The Product Manager- Vehicles is responsible for leading multiple ongoing hardware platform initiatives, from sustaining current products to creating the future of Bird! The Product Manager will work within the Vehicle organization

What You'll Do

  • Represent the voice of the customer as the company develops innovative products and improves existing products with features our customers will benefit from

  • Collaborate with Engineers, Manufacturing/Production, and vendors to lead the development of products from ideation, to test, to shipping

  • Create and manage multiple roadmaps Lead cross-functional teams to prioritize and pursue the highest impact opportunities

  • Closely monitor and measure results

What You'll Need

  • B.S. or higher in a technical discipline. MBA or equivalent a plus

  • 5+ years consulting or product management experience.

  • Not afraid to get your hands dirty and jump in with Engineers and Technicians

  • 5+ years of product management at a hardware company

  • Experience working with platforms which include hardware, firmware and software

  • Excellent time management

  • Experience with Agile processes a plus

  • Strong track record of excellence in execution

  • A team player who is constantly looking to teach and learn from others

What You'll Do: * Lead post-launch activities intended to support a smooth transition into production * Be responsible for managing medium-large scale and/or moderately complex departmental and cross-functional development projects * Act as liaison between design engineering, product management, operations, quality, supply chain and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables * Assist oversea and US engineering teams with technical issues to ensure mutual understanding and smooth collaboration between Engineering, Contract Manufacturers and Suppliers * Evaluate and troubleshoot electronic circuitry and provide technical feedback for root cause investigations and supplier designs in progress * Review supplier PCBA layout, physical PCBs and electronics and surface issues, design and quality * Design and support production of line tooling and test equipmentEvaluate design solutions as well as perform electronics functional tests * Work with other Electrical, Mechanical, and Validation Engineers in analysis, investigation and resolution of supplier related engineering problems * Support development of supplier specifications and standards * Design and evaluate power electronic circuitry and select components according to requirements * Manage schematic capture and PCBA layout of all prototype electronics * Test and qualify alternate components due to obsolescence * Evaluate design solutions as well as perform power electronics functional test and system integration * Create and construct working prototypes for validation. What You'll Need: * Bachelor's (B.S.) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar technical discipline, from an accredited institution * 7+ years related work experience * Design experience with motors, motor controllers, battery management systems, power supplies, inverters / converters, and/or power electronics * Digital, analog and circuit design, battery safety (DOT and HALT), testing and validation experience * Experience working with domestic and overseas suppliers, and contract manufacturer's * Have a good understanding of QMS and and its relation to overall product quality * Design for manufacturability (DFM) & Design for test (DFT) * Experience with RF and Bluetooth communication * Microprocessor, microcontroller experience including testing * System level design abilities * Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar software * Experience with embedded firmware * System level design competency * Prior professional experience with embedded electronics design containing microcontrollers, DSPs, programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD), memory, high speed signaling, MEMS sensors, etc * Experience with CANbus, UART, I2C, and SPI communications * Be highly detail oriented, organized and organizationally agile individual preferred * Have knowledge of NPI and product development process. * Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Be flexible to travel domestically and internationally according to business necessity, up to 25% of time Bird Rides Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer, and we welcome everyone regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or genetics.
