Overview:

Badger Meter is seeking a Product Manager responsible for the strategic development & life cycles of assigned product portfolios as well as analyzing and developing a solution strategy to promote and grow sales of all of Badger Meter products into the global upstream oil & gas market. Assigned products for this position leverage electronics/wireless/software technologies that are used by various industrial and commercial applications. This individual will be responsible for preparing new product definitions and actively participating on new product development teams to provide ongoing input to ensure that new products satisfy customer and market requirements.

This individual will work collaboratively with other product managers to lead the overall portfolio for the upstream oil & gas market as well as working with Sales, Marketing Communications and Customer Service to drive effective launch strategies and penetration to the market. Key tasks will include conducting voice of customer (VOC) activities to identify growth opportunities for new and existing products; and presenting at conferences. We expect this individual to become well-versed in applications of Badger Meter products in oil field environments with a willingness to spend time with customers in oil fields environments to learn/understand solution requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities Develop short and long range business plans in conjunction with management for the product line consistent with market needs and corporate strategic plans. Develop product promotional items, in conjunction with management, including trade shows, product literature, product training and product distribution plans to achieve Business Plan objectives for assigned products. Develop marketing specifications as appropriate.

Execute product pricing policies based on established gross margin objectives and assist with preparation of plans for margin improvement where necessary. Prepare competitive analysis and formulation of competitive counter strategies for new and existing products. Attend technical symposiums and exhibits to maintain knowledge on available and competitive technology and for presenting papers and seminars as appropriate to promote products.

Support product life cycle management, including initiation of product improvements and/or enhancements. Define and communicate, in conjunction with management, market and customer requirements through interaction with Project Teams, Business Teams, and other departments to maximize market success. Assist with determining total market and available market for the product line(s). Skills and Experience Requirements Ideal candidates will have 3-5+ years experience in upstream oil & gas applications; and/or a strong background in wireless, industrial networks (e.g.

Modbus, HART, EtherNet/IP), or software technologies. Knowledge of flow instrumentation, fluid properties, and/or piping systems is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience in product, category, or brand management with increasing responsibility of B2B technical products.

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Science is required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Solid quantitative skills with an emphasis on business and financial acumen.

Able to interpret data and draw conclusions. Willingness to travel up to 25%; primarily for VOC activities at customer locations. Competent technical aptitude or proven success managing technical portfolios.
