TSR Consulting has been asked by their valued client, a leading online publisher of health/medical information, to assist with their need for the following role:

Product Manager
Location Durham, NC
6 month contract-to-hire

We do not work with 3rd party vendors on C2C

Job Description:

The Product Manager will play a key role to help manage the product roadmap, use cases, functional requirements, product development backlog, and product documentation associated with the development of the simulation and other healthcare applications. The Product Manager will also assist with cross-functional teams for product execution and launch. The role will require collaboration with key client stakeholders and external partners.


Responsibilities:
Oversee product roadmap prioritization and execution.
Collaborate with product team, engineering and end-users to define and document product requirements and feature prioritization.
Develop user research plans in collaboration with the UX team to uncover product priorities and product trends.
Collaborate with Marketing team to define marketing communications and strategy.
Collaborate with sales and strategy teams to identify new market opportunities and define product vision.
Define and analyze metrics that ensure the success of products.
Triage product requests and bug reports and prioritize development accordingly for the engineering team.
Monitor status of ongoing work and articulate progress, dependencies, and risks to product team, engineering and other stakeholders.
Help support all phases of product development, including sprint planning, retrospectives, etc. and managing tickets in Jira, as needed.
Act as an ambassador for the product.

Required Skills:
3+ years of experience in online and software product management and development.
Demonstrated experience managing execution of product roadmaps, gathering and documenting product requirements for development teams inclusive of business rationale, user needs, and creating functional specifications.
Experience working with vendors and customers, and across cross-functional teams is required.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both in person and written.
Positive and strong team player with a good work ethic.
Comfortable working in an environment where priorities may shift due to industry, product, or user needs.
Thrives on brainstorming and building innovative solutions that consistently challenges the status quo.
Comfortable with technical concepts and equipped to brainstorm with Engineers.
Ability to work autonomously, while also being able to work within a team.
An understanding of core web technologies, and how they come together to form a consumer product.
Desired (not required)

Skills:
Experience working within an agile framework and using tools such as Jira.
Experience participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, daily standups, etc.
Up to date with latest trends in product management tools and frameworks.
Previous experience doing customer research and participating in usability studies a plus.

Education/Certifications:
BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Digital or Graphic Design, Media Studies or related field preferred or a similar amount of product experience.

Primary Responsibilities The Product Manager will work closely with Bioclinica experts and customers to define the needs that drive the product vision. The Product Manager will work collaboratively with product engineering, operations, sales, marketing and support to maintain a product roadmap for delivery dates. Performs product analysis and management by: * Understanding the unique needs of the Imaging business units, collaborating with other Product Managers to align strategies * Gathering, documenting and prioritizing feature requirements through direct interaction with users and stakeholders * Working with operational teams to identify and address areas of operational efficiency; this requires a deep understanding of the business and operational processes * Maintaining a complete listing of prioritized features and assisting in building business justification * Delivering requirement documentation with prioritized features and corresponding justification * Ensuring proper sun-setting and system/technology retirement plans are considered according to Product Life Cycle process * Measuring success using key metrics that you help to define and consistently monitor product performance and quality. * Providing end users training and act as product SME for support Provides product team leadership by: * Working collaboratively with Bioclinica operational and business leaders to define product strategies and requirements and work with engineering to develop roadmap showing deliverables, schedule, features and benefits * Contributing directly to development efforts by developing requirements, UI conceptualization and design, performing prototype reviews etc. * Acting as subject matter expert with respect to the competition, operational best practices in the medical imaging markets and within a specific therapeutic area. * Ensuring that the products support the company's overall strategy and goals * Presenting to senior management, business unit leaders and customers Supports sales and marketing efforts by: * Helping to develop marketing and training material * Providing support with client demonstrations * Making a positive impact on Bioclinica customer relationships * Conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions Secondary Responsibilities Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by: * Reading, understanding and adhering to organizational Standard Operating Procedures ("SOP") * Establishing and enforcing departmental standards * Reviewing and updating company SOPs related to Product Management Contributes to team effort by: * Exploring new opportunities to add value to organization and departmental processes * Helping others to accomplish results * Performing other duties as assigned and deemed necessary Maintains Technical Knowledge by * Attending and participating in applicable company sponsored training Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst or other position working collaboratively across business stakeholders, technology organizations and customers. 3+ years of experience with medical imaging experience and a working knowledge of clinical trial process Experience in developing marketing and user requirements for software applications highly desirable Experience with SDLC (Agile or Scrum framework), TFS, Jira, MS Project, UI/UX principles Familiarity working in an Agile environment Additional skill set: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent analytical skills Demonstrated ability to innovate Excellent team leadership and facilitation skills Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority Working conditions: Travel: 0-25% Lifting: 0-20lbs Other: Computer work for long periods of time EEO Statement: Bioclinica is an equal opportunity employer.
