Summary:

The product manager is responsible for all product releases and coordination of all of the activities required to bring the product to market and/or introduce it to customers. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for the product domain and will be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This role will focus on ensuring that our customers are getting optimal value from the product domain and driving innovation so that we have a competitive, best-in-class product that leads the market.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Own the product domain and ensure its on-going viability and value to the company and customers
  • Work collaboratively with UX/UI product designers and engineering leads to ensure the best product decisions are being made
  • Regularly meet with cross-functional teams like Sales, Client Support and Finance team on any matters that affect Development and can contribute to better communication
  • Facilitate discovery efforts and customer interviews to collect requirements for new opportunities/improvements. Then work with development teams to estimate the effort to deliver new work
  • Develop an intimate understanding of the customer, their problems and needs.
  • Development roadmaps, determine product priority list, track progress on each deadline and communicate out to stakeholders and customers
  • Oversee updates to user help documentation
  • Investigate and confirm newly filed bugs for the product
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
  • Assist in responding to RFPs by evaluating opportunities and prioritizing offerings.
  • Assist in determining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree, or comparable work experience
  • 3+ years experience in software and technology product management
  • Hands-on experience working with an software development team to deliver solutions to customer problems
  • Experience working directly with customers to understand their problems and needs
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum processes
  • Ability to diagnose basic to intermediate technical issues involving software applications and interfaces
  • Demonstrate sound interpersonal skills and a commitment to provide accurate information to customers and stakeholders
  • On occasion, be flexible with schedule to meet customers needs

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to talk and hear
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds

Work Environment

Typical work environment. May be expected to lift hardware inventory and assemble hardware as needed. Some travel may be needed to meet with teams and customers. Onsite and work from home options.

Currently this role is 100% remote due to the pandemic. However, under normal circumstances the position will be based out of our Durham. NC office and will play a critical role in shaping and growing TransLoc.

Our ideal candidate will be adept at applying their product manager experiences in other industries to identify product opportunities that account for the nuance of agriculture but empower our users and serve the industry at scale. You will be responsible for evolving Growers’ products into market-leading, mature technology solutions that will enable the economic sustainability of our customers’ businesses and the ag industry as a whole.</p><p>We are open to a fully remote work option for this role, with some travel required for in-person collaboration and customer meetings. We keep an EST schedule.<br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>As a Product Manager at Growers, you will be responsible for:</strong></p><ul> <li>Developing deep understanding of the ag industry, specifically ag retail’s role in the industry, and Growers’ competitors in the industry via rigorous interview-based and analytical research </li> <li>Partnering with customers and internal stakeholders that support our customers to identify high impact product improvements and enhancements</li> <li>Clearly articulating prioritized business needs and potential product solutions to the management team in order to build and drive the product roadmap and long-term product strategy.
