About the Position

We're seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Line Manager (PLM) to join our data center switching product management team. The candidate will lead Juniper's Telco NFV cloud solution. The candidate will drive software requirements and define solutions, for service provider data centers spanning Juniper's portfolio of switching, routing, security and management products. The candidate will have broad responsibility for working with the field sales to engage customers and drive the business. The candidate must have proven ability and record to drive product and solution requirements, engage with customers, work with vendors and partners, drive market requirement from definition to delivery, and effectively interface with product marketing, product development/engineering, manufacturing, operations and finance.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Define Market Requirements (MRD) - Define future solutions with sustainable differentiation based on customer needs, competition and market analysis

  • Work with engineering to ensure successful delivery of products and software on schedule

  • Support Field Sales - support key account field sales teams

  • Gather customer feedback to understand key issues/needs and trends in customer base. Conduct market analysis to get broader sense of the market and competitive product use.

  • Define pricing for existing and future products

  • Train internal and external teams for effective selling

  • Develop and deliver product presentations for strategic customers

  • Develop product collaterals for product launch and product life cycle

  • Product forecast and demand planning


  • 3+ years product line management experience. Alternative experience could be as a sales engineer or network architect with expertise in the data center

  • 6+ years of work experience

  • Previous experience delivering software and solutions for networking equipment

  • Understanding of the technologies and trends in the Telco, Mobile and Cable space. Knowledge around some of the architectural evolutions such as EPC, vRAN/cRAN, NFV, CORD, vCMTS, R-PHY, etc is extremely desirable

  • Experience in routing and switching technologies (EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, L2 etc.) is required

  • Experience with cloud orchestration products (OpenStack etc.) is desirable

  • Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions

  • Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations that take complex concepts and make them easy to understand and differentiate Juniper vs. the competition.


Must have a BS/MS CS/Engineering degree, MBA preferred

Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Contract Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Industrial/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. * 10 years of experience managing multi-national technical programs/projects. * 8 years of experience gained as in-house legal counsel or in private practice in an international setting. * 5 years of experience in the construction of technology facilities Preferred qualifications: * Juris Doctor or Master of Laws degree; educational or career emphasis on Construction or International Law. * Experience leading cross-functional process improvements. * Proven experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating (international) commercial contracts and corporate secretarial matters (i.e. transactional related work). * Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization and able to hold project leads accountable to the greater project goals. * Strong business acumen, a robust yet flexible personality. * Good communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to operate in a multi-cultural and multi-jurisdictional environment. * Work with stakeholders and develop the project delivery approach and compensation strategy as they relate to contract documentation, procurement and processes * Review vendor listing proposed by strategic sourcing team, collaborate with stakeholders in the evaluation, recommendation and shortlisting of vendors for pre-qualification and/or request for proposal * Manage the pre-qualification process and working closely with stakeholders to shortlist vendors to the next phase of the procurement of the process * Meet with vendors, soliciting them to be interested. Coordinate the RFP process including documentation and interviews. Negotiate the Master Agreement with vendors ahead of RFP * Strategize and recommend a suitable contracting model based on project specific location and review the agreement for vendors.
