Product Manager, Reference Data

Position Overview:

The Climate Corporation is revolutionizing the agriculture industry with tools that help the world's farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools and data analytics. We have a unique opportunity for a Product Manager to join our team to help build, maintain and enhance our reference data sets that act as strong foundation for our agronomic models, data analytics and products.

What You Will Do:

  • Business ownership of reference data delivery to end user applications.

  • Determine key users, and understand use cases for reference data across a variety of customer segments, capability domains and agriculture input types.

  • Change management of reference data including:

  • Communication of change impacts to business lines and development and support teams

  • Full cycle project management for active reference data related issues and improvements

  • Ownership and management of escalated reference data related issues originated by the support teams

  • Document mapping usage of reference data fields to specific functions on the FieldView platform.

  • Make data-driven recommendations to management on all aspects of the reference data offering including vendor selection (whenever applicable), quality assurance processes and tools.

  • Expand global coverage for reference data across different data types and geographies, by understanding local and use case specific needs.

  • Full cycle project management for active reference data related issues and improvements.

  • Partner with different product and engineering teams across Climate and Bayer to deliver world class reference data offerings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of software product management experience.

  • B.S. in a technical field.

  • Data analysis / data management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software development experience including working with agile development teams.

  • Experience working with a query language.

  • The ideal candidate will be methodical, detail-oriented and someone who can drive consensus across multiple teams with a measured approach.

A meticulous and methodical expert who delivers detailed and reliable information to regulatory, QA, Finance, Production and R&D on current and upcoming products. Candidate will manage and upkeep product and material data bases. Primary focus will be PLM implementation, data entry and management. Duties will include creating all new product specifications, transitioning current specifications into PLM and maintenance of each. In addition, ensure costing BOMs associated to each are accurate and representative of that listed in SAP. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: * PLM development and Implementation. * Responsible for specification transitions, creation, monitoring, revision, and sustainment. * Associate all products and materials with costing BOMs in SAP. * Assist R&D, Regulatory, Sales & Finance with new and current product development. * Provide training and guidance for alternate or additional PLM users within company. Work Environment/Physical Demands * Work long hours at a computer. * Maintain a regular communication line through meetings and emails. Capabilities/Qualifications: * Expert computer skills required with emphasis on PLM & SAP mandatory * Excellent collaboration and organizational skills * Ability to multitask and prioritize * Must be able to work closely with many departments including Sales, R&D, Quality, Marketing, Purchasing, and Production. * Clear, concise written and oral communication skills required with attention to detail and accuracy mandatory * Must be self-motivated, with ability to follow through and complete task in the given deadlines Experience/Work History: * Reliable work history, punctuality, and dependability * College degree or 2-3 years of industry experience * Proficient PLM/SAP work history Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: Minimal (10-15%) JBS USA Chicago IL
