Responsibilities

As a Product Manager, you'll deliver products that ensure a compelling digital experience for our retail Customers or help arm H-E-B Partners company-wide with world-class business applications to thrive in their jobs. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders to cultivate an intimate understanding of their needs and technology and drive the entire technology project lifecycle to make our digital tools work, whether they're for Customers in our Stores or in workplaces across the Company.

The Facility Alliance Product team is focused on streamlining and consolidating data and systems related to Real Estate, Construction & Design, Facility Maintenance, and Capital Planning teams. Our first goal is to strategically stand-up Core Services (a single source of truth) for all of H-E-B's physical locations, in service to accurate reporting, cost estimation, and to the many down-stream user-facing applications that rely on such data. If you're someone who works seamlessly with engineers, designers, and business partners, can ask savvy questions, and help drive decision making by leveraging data, our Product Manager role is a perfect fit.

The Product Manager over Location Management will help shape the vision, strategy, and execution of our Location Core Service, and drive innovation through documenting and understanding current state, creating new products to be used by hundreds of users with differing business needs, and planning for the future.

  • Seasoned product manager who is curious, empathetic and data-driven, with business acumen related to enterprise organizations, and can apply those skills to the delivery of technology solutions for Partners, Suppliers and Customers

What is the work?

Digital Product Management:

  • Manages activities that drive product development and delivery at the team and department levels; serves as dedicated owner of a set of features, single product or a small set of related products while working independently with limited supervision

  • Affects change within own product domain

  • Applies understanding of product vision to assist in coordinating cross-functional teams of Partners or vendors

  • Explores / validates / executes with little pre-defined solutions; makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment

  • Collaborates with stakeholders company-wide to understand / document business, stakeholder, and user needs in an end-to-end manner

  • Crafts and maintains product roadmaps

  • Accesses / organizes data; builds analyses to understand financial impact of business opportunity and proposed solutions

  • Works closely with business stakeholders, Product Managers, Design & Engineering Partners to drive entire technology product lifecycle

  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders to drive product vision

  • Applies understanding of / executes against features prioritization as defined by Product leadership and business stakeholders

  • Applies command of existing process; identifies critical risks and dependencies; identifies team issues; may escalate for resolution

  • Leads teams to demonstrate high velocity, efficiency, and morale; ensures team consistently meets committed deadlines

  • Manages reporting metrics to identify product team successes and failures

  • Drives product backlog maintenance: authors detailed user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Serves as a trusted mentor and guide

What is your background?

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
  • 2 + years of experience in product management / development related experience (e.g., retail, finance, marketing, computer science, design)

Do you have what it takes to be a Product Manager at H-E-B?

  • Working knowledge of product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)

  • Knowledge of voice of the customer techniques
