Summary/Objective:

The Product Manager is responsible for owning the entire lifecycle of a product, from product launch through obsolescence. They will own the product strategy and roadmap, determine the market potential and understand the overall impact to Lippert's P&L and inventory position for the products within their category. This position will report to the Product Management Director of their product segment (i.e., either Automotive, RV or Marine).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Total Addressable Market (TAM) and Serviceable Available Market (SAM) analysis of their category

  • Own all SKUs in their designated product categories throughout the entire lifecycle of the product (i.e., product launch through obsolescence)

  • Create and manage associated product roadmaps

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company and departmental goals, vision, and values

  • Lead the development of pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market

  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, the competitive landscape and sales data to identify opportunities for product development and growth

  • Work collaboratively with marketing to develop and execute promotional plans that drive customer engagement and sales

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market share, and inventory levels to identify areas for improvement and take appropriate action

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, operations, and supply chain to ensure effective product launches, promotions, inventory management, and supply chain optimization

  • Utilize KPIs to measure and track the financial performance of each SKU and the overall product category

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.

  • May sit for several hours at a time.

  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.

  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in product management or development, marketing or engineering

  • Previous experience in the recreational vehicle, marine, automotive or other applicable industries is preferred

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions based on insights.

  • Proven experience in driving product assortments and partnering with the innovation, product development and sales teams to conceive product concepts that drive business growth

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization.

  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape

  • Advanced problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is not very active and requires standing, walking, sitting majority of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Travel:

Travel will be minimal and would be 10% or less.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in product management or development, marketing or engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Finance, Engineering, Business or other related field

  • 3-5 years applicable, progressive product management experience

  • Aftermarket experience preferred

  • Previous experience in the recreational vehicle, marine, automotive or other applicable industries is preferred
