Scoot's Electric Vehicle Product Manager will define the most advanced fleet of electric vehicles in the world, including electric scooters, electric cars, electric bicycles, and other types of light electric vehicles.
The Vehicle Product Manager will work with Scoot's VP of Vehicle Programs and other Scoot executives to specify, source, and acquire light electric vehicles which Scoot will deploy in cities all over the world.
The Vehicle Product Manager will work with vehicle manufacturers to improve and adapt their existing vehicles for Scoot's needs as well work with designers to create custom components or whole vehicles specific to Scoot's shared, city-focused service model.
Scoot is based in San Francisco and Barcelona and is expanding rapidly. The Vehicle Product Manager will be based in San Francisco and will travel frequently to China and Europe to meet with suppliers, visit factories, test new products, and meet with riders and Scoot staff to learn about their needs and how our vehicles can better meet those needs.
The Vehicle Product Manager will work closely with Scoot's maintenance teams, supply chain managers, electronics and software engineers, and other product managers to create a global fleet of electric vehicles that delight our riders and convince them to switch from cars and taxis to fast, fun, Electric Vehicles for Everyone.
At least 5 years experience as the primary product manager or principal for complex, physical, consumer products (e.g. electronics, bicycles, motor vehicles)
At least 5 years experience in industrial design or mechanical engineering
Mastery of product and project management processes and software tools for prioritization and planning
Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or industrial design
Enthusiasm to ride bicycles and motorbikes
Ability to travel internationally on a monthly basis
Exemplary in-person, phone, and written communication skills
Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese preferred
