Job Description

The RTS Intercoms Product Manager for Matrices & Wireless assumes complete responsibility for their product line and guides efforts towards achieving growth goals for the entire range of products. This individual functions as an entrepreneur, propelling sustainable and lucrative growth beyond market norms within their product category. Serving as the customer advocate within the organization, the Product Manager is entrusted with global turnover and margin duties for their product segment. Their role encompasses overseeing the entire lifecycle of their product portfolio, encompassing planning, creation, manufacturing, market introduction, and eventual product discontinuation.

Essential Functions

  • Formulate, suggest, and confer about global Intercom offerings encompassing products, services, applications, monetization, and user experience strategies.

  • Devise user interfaces tailored for various human-machine interactions, encompassing hardware panels, software interfaces, and mobile applications.

  • Establish APIs in collaboration with partner solutions.

  • Oversee the worldwide Intercom Business Segment product assortment and assess the market prospects for novel products and related applications through continuous market analysis and evaluation of customer requirements.

  • Initiate the Product Engineering Process (PEP), outline the Commercial Requirements Specification (CRS), and provide support throughout the entire PEP for all designated procedural stages.

  • Scrutinize the market landscape and implement strategies (marketing mix) to enhance market presence and bolster market positioning across the Intercom segment.

  • Execute product launches (develop launch strategies, execute launches, and assess outcomes) for specific sections of the Intercom segment.

  • Formulate a global pricing strategy for products and the portfolio, aligned with the Business Segment's strategy; set pricing for fresh products grounded in perceived value as perceived by end-users.

  • Manage pricing alignment, upkeep, and adjustments when necessary.

  • Ensure portfolio currency through ongoing maintenance efforts.

  • Monitor competitive products and conduct regular benchmarking exercises (specifications, unique selling propositions, etc.).

  • Craft and take charge of elements of the portfolio's product messaging, positioning, features, benefits, and unique selling propositions for end-users and clients.

  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge to relevant internal and external stakeholders. This encompasses elucidating product technologies, distinct advantages over competition, and commercial product training across the Intercom segment.

  • Provide support to the global sales and business development teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, and/or Engineering, and/or related field or commensurate related experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and/or product management within the Critical Communications or Broadcast industry or Intercom related experience.

  • Possesses a strong emphasis on user-centered approaches.

  • Highly advantageous to have prior Product Management involvement within Critical Communications or Broadcast/Entertainment sectors.

  • Highly beneficial to possess knowledge and hands-on experience with IP standards and implementation.

  • Demonstrated competence in defining APIs is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Cloud applications and protocols.

  • Exhibits a track record of applying fundamental marketing principles within a business context, including the ability to effectively assess markets and competitors to pinpoint customer requirements.

  • Possesses a technical acumen to comprehend product features and functionalities.

  • Experience in fostering a cultural shift from hardware-oriented to software-oriented mindset is highly valued.

  • Proficient in structuring desires and requirements, assessing perceived end-user value, and establishing cost-effective product definitions.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and spoken in English; capable of delivering impactful presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Capable of assuming a business leadership role, influencing others, instigating change, and collaborating seamlessly within cross-functional teams in a matrix organizational structure.

  • Adept at planning, organizing, and executing tasks to achieve accurate and punctual outcomes, while focusing on pivotal priorities and effectively managing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Proficient in issue identification and root cause analysis, displaying innovative problem-solving skills, attentiveness to diverse viewpoints, thorough exploration of possibilities, and a receptive mindset.

  • Demonstrates credibility and reliability, maintaining consistency between communication and taking action.

  • May require up to 20% travel, including some international travel.
