The role of a Product Manager III is to maximize the success of the organization's product offerings by owning responsibility for product strategy, product development, and product lifecycle management.

Position's Customer(s): All of GCI's business units.

Essential Duties of All Levels in the Position:

  • Document and distribute the product information necessary to ensure success of the functional groups required to sell, delivery, and support products

  • Conduct financial analysis and develop business cases to drive revenue attainment

  • Provide executive decision-makers with the reporting insights needed to drive organizational success

  • Optimize product success across each stage of the product life-cycle by identifying under-performing areas and creating plans for improvement

  • Integrate both financial and strategic analysis into a synthesized set of hypotheses and conclusions

  • Draw actionable insights from market validation channels by collaborating with functional groups to solicit feedback from customer-facing teams and customers themselves

  • Product Strategy Market and technology research and trend analysis, idea intake and evaluation, product roadmaps, cross-portfolio collaboration, lifecycle planning, feasibility analysis and business case development, capital planning, network architecture planning collaboration, and collaboration with market segment owners to align market and product strategy.

  • Product Development Product project planning and execution, accountability for project success, risk mitigation and contingency planning, product requirements documentation, and go-to-market activities coordination.

  • Product Lifecycle Management Product margin and EBITDA optimization, product performance evaluation and life stage management, product performance scorecard reporting, advanced technical support escalation, product operations and quality management, and product knowledgebase content maintenance.

  • Independence Ability to function autonomously, assuming a great amount of responsibility, and demonstrating leadership on assigned projects with minimal direction

  • Collaboration Proven ability to collaborate effectively across the organization to achieve a positive outcome. Must foster inter-departmental harmony by promoting cross-departmental collaboration

  • Organizational Awareness Maintain a deep understanding of organizational core competencies and awareness of their impact on product launches and lifecycle optimization

Cable modem broadband technologies

Consumer and Business broadband delivery to remote locations (Satellite, microwave, etc.)

Connected home and/or SMB technologies

Rural internet technologies

Wi-Fi services (LAN and public Wi-Fi hotspots)

Additional Job Requirements:
This is an intermediate level position requiring the ability to perform complex and diverse duties under deadlines and operating constraints. This position will have ownership responsibilities for some product lines, including accountability for the ultimate success or failure of those products. Requires ability to perform development and implementation of projects, programs, and procedures of general organizational impact. Increased product and market knowledge is expected, relative to more junior positions. Must have the experience to provide functional/technical guidance to lower level staff while fostering teamwork within area of responsibility. Increased product and market knowledge is expected, relative to more junior positions. This position may have one or more direct reports.

Essential Duties for this position:

  • Product Lifecycle Management. Collaborate with key company leaders on sales/market forecasting, financial budgeting, capital planning, and infrastructure capacity planning. Negotiate contract terms and maintain vendor relationships. Direct the ongoing evaluation of portfolio products and optimization of products with respect to their lifecycle stage (launch, growth, harvest, retire, etc.).

  • Product Development. Collaborate with project management and key stakeholders to create and execute a project plan that achieves defined requirements. Guide Go-To-Market activities to support a successful product launch. Advocate for customer experience objectives and strategic integrity during development and life-cycle management efforts. Collaborate with project management to conduct risk mitigation and contingency planning.

  • Product Strategy. Interact with executive leadership to intake ideas, analyze feasibility, determine strategic alignment, and prioritize development initiatives on long-term product roadmap

  • Leadership. Accept responsibility for the success or failure of assigned products. Guide the outcome of large initiatives with material impact to the organization's financial success. Contribute thought leadership by participating in market conversations and industry events. Direct the work of Product Management team members and other functional groups.

  • Minimum of six years of experience in a relevant field required; to include

o Technology Sales and/or Marketing,

o IT Development and/or Operations,

o Software Development,

o Technology Engineering,

o Financial Analysis, and

o Data Analytics.

  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with common product development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall is preferred.

  • Product Management and/or Product Development experience is required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, and Economics, Industrial Management/Engineering or related field is required.

  • Or a combination of relevant exempt experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

  • Certifications: Industry specific certifications, such as those from Pragmatic Marketing and/or The 280 Group are highly valued and may contribute toward relevant education and experience

Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary office work with some travel to company locations where indoor and outdoor work may be required. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, using hand tools and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions: Majority of work is performed in Anchorage with projects both in and out of town. Position requires travel to remote locations (which may include traveling in small aircraft) in Alaska for site surveys, meetings and contract management/inspection purposes.

The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees, may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. You will be requested to provide an emergency after hours contact numbers.

Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Must be able to drive, as use of personal vehicle for transportation between various company facilities is required.

The MHS III is also responsible for providing leadership and direction to MHS I and MHS II staff based upon experience and special training in the various areas of mental health service delivery (i.e. group therapy, milieu management, diagnostic based training, grief and loss, etc.) Because the purpose of the MHS III is to provide leadership and training in the provision of care, there are a limited number of positions available and the position is awarded based on special application. The MHS III will work cooperatively under the Unit Nurse and if the situation arises, the MHS III/CT. * Assumes a leadership role in the organization by leading the MHS staff, coordinating MHS assignments with the Unit Nurse, role models appropriate communication with other team members. * Provides immediate supervision and direction of MHS staff as assigned by the Nurse/Nurse Manager. * Provides input for 90-day and annual evaluations of MHS staff along with the Nurse/Nurse Manager; provides formal training to staff members to ensure they are competent to perform assigned duties; gives appropriate and timely feedback to staff regarding patient care duties, documentation, milieu management, and other aspects of the job. * Takes a leadership role in identifying patient's problems, needs, and strengths and works closely with RN to ensure intervention is carried out; provides verbal input into the development of treatment plan goals and interventions and ensures it is properly documented and followed. * Provides input to Master's degreed staff on the formulation of special programs and ensures they are consistently and fairly implemented. * Serves as a liaison between the MHS Staff and the Nurse/Nurse Manager regarding patient care concerns; safely escorts patients within and outside the hospital. * Ensures staff adheres to guidelines for patients on special status, i.e. suicide, one-to-one, sexual or AWOL precautions. * Displays and monitors unit activities to ensure good boundaries in maintaining professional relationships with patients. * Teaches MHS staff by role modeling and mentoring to assist patients in following community rules/guidelines and in forming positive peer relationships; drives milieu management by maintaining adherence to patient schedule. * Monitors MHS staff documentation to ensure patient location log, 1:1 and status based check sheets are completed on a continuous observation basis; ensuring end of shift progress notes are complete, legible, and accurate. * Leads an effective team to establish a milieu which minimizes the occurrence of aggressive behavior. * Has completed, or will complete at the next available date, de-escalation trainer courses; ensures training techniques are followed during any physical interventions. * Attends change of shift reports if possible, or provides accurate information to the Nurse/Nurse Manager before report. * Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: This position requires one of the following: * Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field plus a minimum of 2 years' experience in the mental health field * Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with 4 years' experience in the mental health field OR * Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Must be able to interact positively with patients on a daily basis whose behavior may be difficult, uncooperative, or aggressive; perform concentrated and/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and/or highly technical situations; work successfully under highly stressful conditions; make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles; comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures; collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion; adapt to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis; have effective comprehensive reading skills; and have strong communication skills, written and verbal. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: The Mental Health Specialist III must be willing and able to execute the patient de-escalation methods, both verbal and physical; be able to complete new hire requirements such as State of Alaska Background Check and Drug Testing; be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to age groups, as well as job and/or program specific competency within three (3) months of hire date; be certified in CPR and Handle with Care Training upon completion of orientation and annually thereafter; complete all mandatory in-services annually; be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test annually or by a chest x-ray annually. Must be 21 years of age to work in an RTC. GENERAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Working conditions for all employees are as follows, but are not limited to a psychiatric hospital/RTC setting: risk involved in the event of aggressive patient(s); workload may include day, evening, night, weekend, and/or holiday shifts; occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, blood borne pathogens and body fluids, and loud noise levels. Mental demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, but are not limited to the ability to remain calm in a stressful environment; and the emotional stability, physical stamina and agility to handle stress and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requirements include, but are not limited to the ability to communicate effectively with employees; the ability to effectively utilize communication equipment; the physical agility to manage cleaning equipment; the ability to read and write. Additionally, the Mental Health Specialist III must frequently utilize physical ability for standing or sitting for long periods of time; regularly utilize physical ability for speaking, hearing, and seeing with correction for close and distance vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception and focusing ability. Speaking and hearing may be necessary for conversing with and assessing employees; be able to ascend/descend stairs and ramps; use body agility; bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist; bend legs at knees to come to a rest on knees; be able to extend hands and arms in any direction; be able to use upper and lower extremities to exert force in a pulling or pushing motion. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; be able to raise objects from a lower to higher position or from side-to-side; concentrate amidst distractions; must be able to perform work of a repetitive nature; must respond calmly to potentially volatile clients.
