WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DO IN THIS CRITICAL ROLE:

Ensures the overall company readiness for individual new product introductions. Manages the overall product lifecycle and responsible for business viability of the product. Coordinates specific offer ability actions/projects with Boeing, Airbus, and the world's airlines, and manage the technical product information.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE:

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Define, track and communicate implementation plans for assigned areas of responsibility in support of overall hardware related IFE Products. Areas of responsibility may include definition of requirements, business case analysis, content management, software, GSE, OEM offer ability and test, third party integration, process improvement and database management.

  • Manage product line implementation plans.

  • Participate in development and implementation management related activities with cross functional teams

Project Management

  • Function as liaison between various internal groups.

  • Interface with technical and program management teams within Panasonic, Boeing, Airbus, and customers.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and a diverse range of internal organizations via all methods of communication.

  • Familiarity with audio and video on demand (AVOD) technology such as portable music players, digital video recorders, satellite television, and satellite radio.

  • Exposure to IFE, avionics, or other aircraft related products.

  • Knowledge of airline operations, ARINC standards, aircraft and/or electronics manufacturing.

  • Working knowledge of storage array networks, Ethernet switching, OOS, wireless network technology, and MPEG standards.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to read situations and apply diplomacy and tact in communications needed to perform duties.

  • Practiced ability to communicate, present and train for product line implementation plan and initiatives.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and participate in select meetings with airline customers and/or airframe manufacturers providing in depth product expertise.

  • Possess strong cross organizational leadership skills.

  • Ability to support complex product requirements and schedules, late product development and delivery, cost and pricing issues, as well as controlling commitments.

  • Proficiency in mainstream PC desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).

  • Having a wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Determines general methods and procedures for work and may coordinate activities of other personnel.

  • Uses independent judgment to ensure projects/assignments are completed accurately and on-time and may be tasked with ensuring work of others is completed in a timely manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year university degree in a technical field (preferably in EE or CS).

  • 5 - 8 years experience with product or program management or a position requiring similar skills.

  • MBA with emphasis in marketing, finance or MIS preferred.

  • 6 years experience in the aerospace, aviation, technical airline operations, IFE or related industry experience such as networking or consumer electronics preferred.

  • Past experience within the MSO (Multiple System Operator) or DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) market preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to customer and non-customer sites.

Job Summary The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, innovating, and directing the company's short and long-range plans to enhance and develop the Showering Products portfolio, from ideation to exit and everything in between. Your technical mastery of showering product design, competitors, landscapes, customers, and overall category direction is critical. Your effective communication and partnering with team members and suppliers on a constant basis with urgency are essential. Your tenacious work ethic, discipline, flexibility, passion, professional approach, attention to detail, and ability to "roll up your sleeves" day in and day out will insure the successful portfolio growth within the Retail, Showroom, and Trade/Builder/MRO segments. This position will coordinate and work cross functionally with departments, including Sales, Channel Marketing, Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Global Sourcing, and our global manufacturing partners. The Product Manager will be expected to operate as the central authority on all marketing matters related to their assigned portfolio. This role will hold responsibility for development and implementation of management objectives and develop strategies necessary to achieve objectives over specific time spans. Primary Duties & Responsibilities * (60%) - New Product Development (NPI) * Lead cross-functional team (engineering, sourcing, supply chain, and finance) through multiple on-going product development projects at various stages of development via HHI milestone process. * Drive product road development and innovation, manage research initiatives to establish fact based business and marketing strategy development. Understand market, channel and/or customer dynamics, product design, trends, and end–user preferences and purchase drivers. Answer key strategic inputs, and execute efficiently per budget and timing. Communicate and apply results and/or conclusions. * Identify and develop new business opportunities, product adjacencies, and markets. * Develop NPI scope documents (preliminary financials, KPI's, timeline management, etc.) * Attend global supplier and factory trips (pilot). Overseas travel required. * Present and interact with senior level internal and external customers * (25%) - Portfolio Maintenance * Support brand guidelines to insure consistency, with specific influence on packaging, product images, merchandising, and collateral related to assigned projects * Facilitate product related materials for customer collaboration, line reviews, and business reviews. Includes but not limited to product renderings, samples, associated market and trend details, mood boards, etc. * Work with quality and brand to support installation workshops, videos, market research and related initiatives. * Responsible for sales and gross margin performance of portfolio, pricing, P&L, asset management, etc. * Manage product life cycle * (15%) – Business Processes * Contribute to HHI financial and business initiatives through established rhythms and assigned projects. Examples include sales and operations planning to improve forecast accuracy or inventory initiatives tied to working capital. * Support the management of the on-line databases to ensure proper content (internal as well as customer websites) * Manage product documentation process including mix management, product life cycle. Generate reports, tools as required. * Manage special projects as assigned. Education and Experience Profile * Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business from an accredited College or University is required. MBA/MS preferred. * Minimum 3-5 years in Product Development, Marketing, Channel Management, and/or Sales with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results. * Ideal Candidates will have experience in the decorative plumbing category and in retail Home Center, Showroom, and Trade/Builder/MRO Customer segments.
