Primary Function

The Product Manager serves as the primary technology owner for the NewRez consumer-facing tools including the borrower portal, servicing portals, and online application. The Product will be responsible for the success of the product from strategic planning through tactical execution and implementation. The Product Manager interfaces with the rest of the Enterprise Execution team, IT as well as the business leaders to understand the requirements, usage and key challenges of the technology platform. The Product Manager uses that information to create a roadmap for refinement and transformation balancing short-term enhancements and bugs alongside a long-term vision and transformational goals. They will work hands-on with the IT Development Team (internal as well as vendor), Project Managers, Business Analysts and others to continually refine and improve the platform with the ultimate goal of supporting efficiency within the business and allow for increased profitability while retaining New Penn's concentration on regulatory compliance and overall organizational excellence.

Principal Duties

  • Oversite of the technology around consumer-facing tools building a long-term software roadmap and short-term execution plan to deliver an industry-leading platform.

  • Performs conceptual design work for technology products and enhancements including wire-frames and detailed specification documentation.

  • Organize platform prioritization with thorough understanding of various needs and level-of-effort to implement.

  • Drive solution through multiple functional areas including Enterprise Execution (Project Managers, Business Analysts, SQA), IT Development, and other impacted groups such as Risk, Origination Channels, Capital Markets/Secondary.

  • Manage feedback loop from product customers understand user experience and satisfaction and translate into improvement plan / roadmap.

  • Responsibilities can include analysis, consultancy, development, project management and testing work

  • Function as "light app" developer within rapid application development platform(s) for prototype or production applications.

  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mortgage lending, financial services technology, or other related field

  • Mortgage related experience across different areas of responsibility (e.g. Processing/sales/compliance or retail/wholesale/correspondent channels)

  • Experience with technology development, programming, business analyst responsibilities, project management or other areas of responsibility that align to design and implementation of change (process and/or technology)

  • Specific knowledge of rapid application development platforms or other company platforms preferred

  • Requires knowledge of mortgage lending operations in the financial services industry

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

  • Demonstrated exceptional ability to effectively interact with cross functional teams

  • Analytical talent able to quickly engage and learn new processes and analyze for opportunities

  • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and modern programming concepts

  • Programming or developer experience preferred experience writing code for web-based platforms

  • Strong organization skills, project management experience a strong positive

  • Communication skills, verbal and written, capable of expressing complex issues to a broad audience

The Product Line Manager is responsible for developing and executing the product line growth strategy to drive top line revenue growth and overall margin expansion. Defines the value proposition, product differentiation and commercial development needs for HFLSP success as a solution provider creating barriers to entry. The product line manager drives alignment with key stakeholders to cover all relevant cross functional considerations to ensure they are addressed in the commercial development of new products and markets as well as in the management of exisitng products. Coordinates the execution of the strategy internally and externally with team members. Supports commercial endeavors on a day to day basis across all aspects of their product slate. The product line manager must be a team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills and have the technical and business savvy to recognize new opportunities, prioritize based on financial assessment, define the commercial development strategy and deliver on the tools to achieve success. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA) * Manage the product line(s) from strategic planning to tactical execution within each market segment. * Together with Sales, responsible for development of budget, top line revenue growth, margin optimization and realization of the product line budget and growth strategy. * Determine overall pricing and margin strategy, optimize supply & demand issues, identify key prospects. * Develop in-depth understanding of the marketplace including applications, customer base, competitive landscape, cost drivers, trends and alternative technology. * Evaluate and determine financial objectives and conducts product line reviews to monitor performance. * Conduct ROI analysis of new projects in collaboration with key stakeholders and HFLSP Capital Committee. * Review and approve product line needs and ideas submitted relative to value and strategic fit. * Analyze potential partner relationships and contracts. * Lead cross functional teams around product line issues incorporating Operations, Supply & Demand, Planning, Purchasing, Regulatory, Technology, Technical Service, Pricing, Customer Care, Logistics, Legal. * Define implementation strategy, marketing needs and budget. * Executes key marketing activities to ensure the right positioning, messaging and tools are delivered including presentations, collateral material, promotions and trade participation. * Collaborate with Global Marketing on Specialties branding, digital and social media, SEO and SEM, trademark management to ensure Corporate harmonization and efficient utilization of resources available for support. EXPERIENCE: Sales, technical service and/or market/product developmnent experience: 10+ years EDUCATION: Technical 4-year degree related to chemistry PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters of Business Administration is preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: * Strong project management and problem solving skills. * Travel – approximately 20-40%. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment.
