Work you'll do:

The Product Manager will play a critical role in helping to define and update a product strategy for one of our newly created products. You will help describe this product in detail, work with engineering on comprehensive specification and implementation, work with the product marketing team on launch and customer adoption, manage early customer programs, and work with engineering teams on user interface, architecture, and integration with other products in the portfolio.

This is a hands-on role that will include both day-to-day product management responsibilities and strategic planning. This is an exciting opportunity the business is growing rapidly and we are making major investments in new technologies, content, and service offerings.

The team:

The Product Management Team is responsible for designing, building, supporting and delivering groundbreaking new products, while managing our existing product portfolio of software, analytics and SaaS-based products.

Key responsibilities:

The Product Manager will collaborate and align with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate customer needs into technical product requirements, and work with engineering to build and deliver world-class products. The Product Manager will be a product champion and should be a team leader with a consistent record of accomplishment for aligning and ensuring end-to-end organization readiness.

  • Scope out initial ideas and create mock ups; create prototypes with internal development center.

  • Define and prioritize key target segments, understanding market needs and working with customer groups to refine product strategy.

  • Initiate comprehensive assessments of relevant industry trends and business requirements in order to help successfully develop product roadmap and launch new products.

  • Engage with customers to understand the marketplace and competitor platforms, including technology, market share, advertising, and competitive SWOT analysis.

  • Develop product positioning, competitive analysis and messaging platforms to guide creative marketing & PR campaigns.

  • Work with internal engineering team/product development team on product build.

  • Monitor, analyze and report on customer/decision-maker/end-user feedback and manage success and evolution of tools in the marketplace.

  • Provide timely reporting of alpha/beta programs, product launches/extensions, and ongoing sales, revenue and profitability performance against defined business targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or equivalent field. MBA a plus.

  • 8-10 years of demonstrated success in fast-paced product management role for software, analytics and/or SaaS-based products.

  • Proven record of accomplishment of launching successful new products, managing product releases and executing winning launches with a small team.

  • Experience with early stage products and new product development from ideation specification.

  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with internal stakeholders from various parts of the organization and drive successful outcomes cross-functionally.

  • Experience working closely with engineering organization to define applications and tools and manage them through the entire product life cycle.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel (50%) periodically.

  • Experience with development of products involving data manipulation and visualization.

  • Strong technical background combined with solid business experience.

Work You'll Do: As part of the Ideation and Strategy team within Deloitte Platforms, you will evaluate both the business and high-level technical feasibility aspects of new asset opportunities that will ultimately complement our services in the form of a hybrid offering. This evaluation includes such responsibilities as: * Collaborate with technical and non-technical Network stakeholders at varying levels to deeply understand the market size, market demand, business requirements and high-level technical requirements for new or existing asset concepts * Translate the asset concept into clear business requirements and high-level technical requirements to assess build feasibility, delivery model, and fit * Perform market sizing and competitive analysis to understand market potential of new concepts * Assess the financial business case and the business model for new asset concepts * Conduct gap analysis of current to target state business architecture (in case of existing assets) and develop a point of view on high-level roadmap considerations to achieve target state * Roll all assessment and analysis into the creation of investment business cases for potential assets, and present material clearly to a variety of stakeholders at varying levels and technical aptitudes * Recommend the best possible go-forward approach for the concept Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics or a related field * 2+ years of software assets strategy and/ or business model and technical evaluation experience, including quantitative and qualitative experience assessing software assets or investments * 2+ years of experience working in a software assets environment in or closely with technical roles, preferably involving analytics or SaaS * Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, and assess various build options to recommend the best available solution * Seasoned understanding of technology-based businesses, including business models, technical components of the stack, and modern software development processes * Strong analytical skillset combined with the ability to synthesize findings into leadership-level business recommendations * Proven ability to successfully partner with internal senior stakeholders from various parts of the organization, with varying degrees of technical aptitude, and drive successful outcomes cross-functionally * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to juggle many competing priorities/ deadlines * Willingness to travel as required (up to 20%) How You'll Grow At Deloitte, our professional development plan focuses on helping people at every level of their career to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
