About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Apparel Product Developer with a strong focus on graphic t-shirts and embroidered items. This role involves overseeing the development process from concept to final product, ensuring that all designs meet our high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our blank t-shirt inventory, coordinating with vendors, ensuring accurate file preparation, maintaining quality control, and assisting with purchase orders.

Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Lead the development of graphic t-shirts, embroidered
    sweatshirts, and other core apparel items, ensuring products align with Love in Faith's brand and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of blank t-shirts, working closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels for production needs.
  • Vendor Communication: Act as the primary liaison with vendors for core product lines.
    Ensure all communication is clear, and production requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • File Preparation: Oversee the preparation of all design files, ensuring they are correctly formatted and ready for vendor receipt.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on strike-offs and final products, providing detailed feedback to vendors to maintain the highest quality standards. Monitor and provide feedback on each quarterly shipment blank goods shipments to ensure fit and quality standards.
  • Purchase Orders: Assist in creating and managing purchase orders for core products, ensuring accurate and timely production.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends and consumer preferences, applying insights to product development to keep Love in Faith at the forefront of Christian apparel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in apparel product development, specifically with graphic t-shirts.   
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, textile properties, and production processes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
    simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience working with domestic and international vendors.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) for file preparation and review.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality control.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for design and trends in the Christian apparel market.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person, over the telephone, and/or via video conference.

Emotional Demands

  • Confident decision-making skills. You will need to review data and make sound decisions on what actions to take and make confident recommendations to senior management. You may need to make decisions quickly with limited amounts of information in urgent situations.
  • Data analysis & interpretation. You will have to process and review a lot of information from a variety of sources, understand how data is collected, assess data quality, and how to use the information.
  • Communication skills. You need to have advanced communication skills in both oral and written form. Emails and written communication with colleagues and external partners, written reports for senior executives. Able to communicate complex financial information to people outside of the finance department.
  • Comfortable with technology. Able to navigate data through computers, mobile, software, databases. Stay up to date with technology advances.
  • Oriented to detail. Financial forecasts rely on projections which can be impacted by even minor changes in sales patterns, consumer sentiment, economic shifts, competitor changes, etc. You will need to be attuned to small changes in all streams of data.
