Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Manager located in Wilmington, MA.

This position will lead the commercial development of new products and emerging technologies and ensure milestones for existing businesses are met for the Research Models business. Responsible for assessing the competitive landscape as well as the viability of new models, championing new opportunities, and driving new products through development, from concept to commercialization.

Direct customer contact for product ideas and technical development. Develop alliances with customers and other technology providers to bring new products to market. Responsible for ensuring budgeted profits and margins are met for the product line(s). Work closely with marketing lead to introduce emerging technologies and products and support the growth of legacy models.

The following are minimum requirements related to the Product Manager position.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: Five to six years related laboratory experience.

    One to two years' experience in a customer facing role preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

  • Other: Must be able to influence resources/staff without direct reporting relationships.

    Ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required. Must possess analytical thinking and problem solving skills and be able to prioritize and re-evaluate priorities as situations change. Working knowledge of computer software (MS Word, MS Excel and databases) preferred.

The Corporate Functions provide operational support across Charles River in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Sales, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Corporate Development. They partner with their colleagues across the company to develop and drive strategies and to set global standards. The functions are essential to providing a bridge between strategic vision and operational readiness, to ensure ongoing functional innovation and capability improvement.
