nbkc bank is currently looking for a Product Manager to join our Product & Project Management team.

The Product Manager takes charge of developing, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining the entire product portfolio. As the subject matter expert (SME), they collaborate with marketing, sales, projects, services, support, and technology teams. Their goal is to create effective go-to-market strategies, ensuring product consistency and alignment with the organization's overall strategy.

This position will work @Flex (a combination of both in the office and at home) based out of our Kansas City, MO office. Candidates must live in Kansas or Missouri.

What you'll do

  • Leads the process to identify new technology and product solutions in a continuous effort to improve the efficiency and profitability of the division. This responsibility includes research/analysis, road mapping, acquisition and implementation while following bank policy regarding the project process. Works with other areas of the Company (i.e. Marketing, Compliance, IT, Software Development, etc.) to ensure a successful rollout of the technology.

  • Responsible for the ongoing communication of product strategies to participants and stakeholders

  • Strong focus on enhancing the customer experience internally and externally

  • Works with technology staff to craft automated solutions to improve efficiencies and address recurring challenges

  • Actively engaged with implementation team during development, launch and post launch actions

  • Assist in vendor and contract agreement development

  • Exhibits subject matter expertise related to core system, ancillary product selection and implementation processes

  • Works with all overlapping areas of the bank to ensure the deposit & lending division's strategies are compatible with the bank's overall strategic plan

  • Collaborates with sales, operations, development, and data along with other stakeholders to solve problems and workflow processes in their respective areas

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining existing product and service solutions, including monitoring business/financial/market risks

  • Will work with appropriate business lines and marketing resources to ensure product information is accurate and up-to-date

  • Develops and implements strategies to streamline the deposit/lending workflow processes and simplify the experience.

  • Performs customer needs analyses and competitive assessments on the bank's suite of products and services.

  • Provide timely updates on roadmap items to executive leadership.

  • Follows all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of proven work experience in product or business development (banking or finance experience preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience providing leadership cross-functionally in a growing business without formal authority

  • Dynamic and stimulating technical communicator - both written and verbal

  • Ability to understand and translate technical concepts to the business and vice versa

  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills and effective team player.

  • Advanced knowledge and proven experience with MS Office products. Solid proficiency of daily utilization to create, format and develop reports and presentation material.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful to find solutions

  • Ability to maintain confidential information

  • Sound judgement and decision-making capabilities. Must be able to obtain information, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

  • Function well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.

  • Previous work experience in the financial services industry

  • Previous experience with banking software solutions such as Finastra, Q2, nCino/Salesforce, PrecisionLender, Zendesk, etc.
