What is the opportunity?
The Annuity and Insurance Product team acts as the primary source of product management and support for annuities and insurance retirement products sold throughout the RBC US Wealth Management (WM) distribution channel. Products included are: annuities, life, long-term-care and disability income. As Product Manager, your role is responsible for management of all insurance carriers and products. Product management efforts include ensuring the platform provides competitive solutions, developing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, implementing strategic initiatives, and managing vendor/partner relationships. You will also be responsible for managing general agency relationships to ensure they meet firm requirements and provide proper coverage throughout RBC footprint. This role is ultimately responsible for identifying product opportunities and challenges, expanding product offering to ensure competitive positioning is achieved in the market place, developing policies and procedures to mitigate risk, communicating across the organization, developing educational campaigns, designing and implementing strategic initiatives, and managing partner/vendor relationships and mainstream product lines into financial planning.
What will you do?
Perform management of annuity and insurance products to ensure high competitiveness and advisor satisfaction
Be the subject matter expert on annuities and insurance for RBC
Identify appropriate solutions to product and business challenges, and manage the implementation of enhancements to existing programs
Develop and execute on appropriate policies and procedures for the platform
Manage the review of new product offerings and platform enhancements to existing products. Implementation includes product review, marketing, legal, compliance, and communication strategies
Conduct research on competitive landscape and industry trends to ensure products are in line with market and client needs
Monitor the regulatory environment to determine business risks and impacts. Recommend and implement policy and process changes as required
Actively participate in the design of training and education functions for FAs and branch support staff designed to increase sales, productivity and field efficiencies
What do you need to succeed?
BA/BS in business, finance, or marketing with 5 7 years securities or financial markets experience
Demonstrated ability to support financial planning and integration of products.
Excellent project management and organizational skills with an understanding of product, technology, operations, and sales and marketing
Willingness to aggressively learn new skills in a short time period
Series 7, 63 or 65/66, 24, life and health license
