It is an exciting time to work for the Missionary Department! The Product Manager of Interactive Content and Experience in the Missionary Department will create and manage products that reach and help interested friends learn more about the Church. You will be directly involved with helping to gather Israel by inviting all to come unto Christ.

The purpose of this position is to help bring God's children unto Jesus Christ by increasing understanding of His Church and its divinely appointed responsibilities of assisting in gathering Israel on both sides of the veil and preparing the world for the Second Coming of the Savior.

The Product Manager 2 is an intermediate level role that creates and manages products that reach a variety of audiences with the purpose of furthering the mission of the Church by inviting all to come unto Christ. The focus of the Product Manager is on meeting the needs of the served audience.

Required:

Successful candidates will have several of the skills, qualifications, and experiences listed below.

  • 4+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary projects or initiatives as a product manager.

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, marketing, communications or related disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

  • Mid- to high-level of competence with Excel, Word and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Experience using JIRA or other project or backlog management tools.

  • Experience writing product requirements, managing initiatives, roadmaps, backlogs, and development teams.

  • Experience managing user experience design and/or AB testing programs.

  • Experience managing a development team backlog as a product manager.

  • Understanding of tech and product development processes, known as a person who can speak and translate between tech and business languages.

  • Experience in content creation, user-experience design, AB testing, learning experience design, and/or delivering messages and content.

  • Experience working with external vendors preferred.

  • Enthusiasm and success in creating user-centric experiences.

  • Able to empathize with audiences and translate their needs or desires into content or product functionality.

  • Results driven and highly organized.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.

  • Ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations.

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree.

You will lead out in creating user-centric web-experience technologies and content that are designed to reach friends of the Church, share messages and invite them to learn more about His gospel. Products generally involve developing and optimizing web-experience technology and creating content (e.g. messages, video, etc.) and delivering it digitally (e.g. website) in multiple languages worldwide.

The following is a breakdown of some of the duties the Product Manager will lead:

Discovery

  • Identify the most important opportunities for interested friends and/or church members.

  • Synthesize and analyze data from qualitative and quantitative sources to identify the most urgent and pervasive problems for the audiences and users of the products and messages created.

  • Become an expert in the data that aids inspiration and decision-making.

  • Obtain feedback on products, using data, analytics, and customer input, to iterate and drive improvements.

  • Sponsor and represent the need for products to stakeholders at various levels in the organization.

Test and iterate

  • Work with content creators, designers, program managers, and engineers to develop content and experiences that will best fulfill the opportunities identified in Discovery.

  • Test hypotheses and collect data about the effectiveness of the content and experiences (e.g. via AB testing).

  • Iteratively refine and improve the designs, messages, and products.

Build and launch

  • Lead and collaborate with teams to launch and manage solutions, content, features, messages, experiences, and improvements.

  • Lead a team of engineers, designers, and analysts to create the best technical solutions possible.

  • Lead cross-functional teams of content creators to create the best content solutions possible.

  • Work with partner service department teams to select and manage vendors who support the work.

  • Own the product vision and inspire teams to do their very best work.

  • Document requirements and clearly communicate the priority and definition of requirements to partner departments and vendors.

Measure, learn, and iterate

  • Measure the level of success to meet the goals of audiences, teams, department, and Church organization.

  • Sponsor product improvements throughout the lifecycle of the product to ensure the continued success of organizational goals.

  • At times, based on data or organizational priorities, lead the efforts to fully retire content and experiences that no longer efficiently meet the objectives for which they were sponsored.
