Job Summary:
Drive and execute Unity Lab Services Inventory Management Services innovation through technology development, deployment, execution, and evolution. Focus is on optimizing return on technology investment by driving value added innovations that enhance operational efficiency, revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability.


Essential Job Duties and

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing, Business Product Management, Digital Product Management teams, as well as subject matter experts in the Operations, Sales, Information Technology and Implementation teams in developing business requirements, test plans, processes, and support systems to develop and evolve Inventory Management Technology platforms.

  • Meet with customers and stakeholders to assess market needs and emerging competitive technologies. Analyze customer, channel, competitive and market data; support visioning and competitive positioning development. Share customer learning and insights with fellow employees to ensure that technology platforms are market driven and build a competitive advantage.

  • Demonstrate ULS Inventory Management platform components for internal and external audiences; effectively position this platform as a solution to key customer needs and challenges

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders arrive at reasoned recommendations for prioritization of development, migration and commercialization activities. Drive and own initiatives from start to close.

  • Present product ideas and development updates to various internal audiences. Be a key platform champion for Inventory Management Technologies within the organization.

  • Working with the operations, implementation teams and other key stakeholder groups, develop operationalization strategies for Inventory Management platforms across the organization.

  • Working with the Inventory Project Management and sales teams, support pilots, migrations and the controlled launch of Inventory Management systems and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, marketing, Logistics Management, project management or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a Sales, Marketing, Product Management, or Project Management.

  • Ability to think strategically and to break down big ideas into smaller tactical initiatives and requirements. .

  • Strong research, competitor intelligence, and project management skills.

  • Must possess the interpersonal and presentational skills to be able to interact with various levels of Thermo Fisher personnel & customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a cross-functional, cross-divisional, matrixed team and the ability to effectively collaborate across a variety of teams (geographic, business type, management style)

  • Strong leadership skills, self-started and a commitment to our values.

  • Must possess strong analytical problem solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way to technical and operations teams.

  • Ability to travel up to 40%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master of Science degree in Marketing, Logistics Management or related field.

  • PPI/Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience.

  • Technical understanding of digital science, technology, inventory/supply management, web-based applications and cloud solutions.

This position is responsible for the planning and procurement of goods and services such as raw materials, parts, components, supplies, and equipment in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as commercially released products. He/she will use their purchasing & planning skill sets, project management expertise, knowledge of supply chains and manufacturing operations, and medical device development experience to function as an integral member of cross-functional development teams supporting key strategic NPI projects. Success in this role is defined by strong project organization and ownership of the development process as it pertains to supply chain, timely and flawless execution of program and organizational goals, and strong supplier relationship management. Responsible for executing to end to end supply chain activities on NPI projects, this role will be expected to communicate to all levels of the organization and manage supply chain activities through all phases of product development up to and continuing through commercialization. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for the procurement and supplier management activities supporting a portfolio of commercially released products. Your day will be very busy… you will: * Provide Supply Chain leadership, insight, and support on cross functional New Product Introduction teams. * Plan, purchase and source parts, finished goods, raw materials and/or tooling in support of NPI as well as commercially released products. * Manage and develop supplier relationships from original sourcing, selection, contracting, pricing, and performance measurement. * Negotiate procurement terms and conditions, establish Kanban and other agreements. * Manage offshore and domestic commodities. * Effectively resolve supplier quality corrective actions. * Manage numerous projects simultaneously while ensuring effective and thorough supply management of assigned products/SKUs. * Facilitate new tasks, purchase order placements, requests for quotation, proposal support, trade studies, problem resolution, and supplier negotiations * Make generalizations, evaluation, or decisions without immediate supervision and within the scope of their essential job responsibilities. * Other supply chain focused projects as assigned. The right person to join our team is... Demonstrates effective negotiation and networking ability; ownership and accountability; the ability to plan, execute, control and deliver; to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form; to lead and influence others effectively. What your background will be: * Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study, typically Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or Finance and 3+ years of experience in the medical device field in a purchasing/planning/supply chain role with an emphasis on New Product Introduction, or equivalent combination. * Project Management experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other related fields. * Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with the manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends. * Ability to work with mathematical concepts including averages, cumulative averages and forecasting, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations involving resource planning, efficiencies and schedule planning. * Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams. * Contract review experience preferred. * APICS Certification preferred. * Computer proficient to include web browser/internet search, MS Outlook, Word and Excel capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems and ability to work with ERP/MRP systems. * Experience with Oracle is advantageous.
