Short Description

Responsible for the development of specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Contributes to the creation business plans and product positioning in the marketplace.

Collects market research, monitors competitive activity, and may identify customer needs. May establish pricing strategies. Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). May contribute to the development of product specifications and requirements to create alignment across the business.

Aligns with other areas of the business to ensure a successful launch of a product(s) to the marketplace/customer through defined channels that align with business strategies. Provides product support through instruction, demonstration and/or tool development for the life of a product/product line. Works with limited guidance on projects within defined criteria.

Provides solutions to a diverse range of moderately complex problems. Knowledge of assigned product(s), company functions, marketing and/or service policies and procedures is preferred.

Experience
3 - 6 Years of Experience

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

They will support and manage existing products, develop enhancements to these products, and assist in creating new offerings for clients. They will contribute to the product strategy and planning, delivery, and client presentations. This is an individual contributor role and does not have any people management or supervisory responsibilities. Role responsibilities: Product Management * Participate in creating the short, mid and long-term strategy for assigned survey products in collaboration with Industry Relationship Managers, global product management, marketing and other Mercer lines of business. * Partner to create product roadmaps that align with broader business and market strategies. * Support the development and approval of product documents and deliverables (i.e. survey questionnaire and final reports). Product/Industry Strategy * Contribute insights to the project team for specific industries by researching and analyzing market conditions, assessment of key competitor offerings and consumer trends. * Provide input to the product strategy team to ensure alignment with Mercer's overall market strategy. * Collaborate to ensure revenue growth and profitability of Mercer products are met, through effective design and administration. Client Management * Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients to gain perspectives on methods to enhance/improve current products and meet industry and market requirements. * Support and actively participate in individual and group client meetings, conferences and events, while gaining exposure to industry group negotiations and contracting. * Support clients through product changes, evolutions, and possible sun-setting of select products.
