Position Summary

Advanced Energy is currently hiring a talented and experienced Product Management Specialist. This role manages Advanced Energys worldwide business for multiple product lines through their lifecycles, including product strategy, customer/market requirements analysis, and pricing.

On a peer basis, interacts with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to optimize business performance for assigned product lines. Assists in segmentation, business planning, product marketing strategies, portfolio management, negotiations, and production forecasts.


Manages lifecycles of multiple AE product lines from concept through launch, to end of life and obsolescence. These products lines will likely be at different stages of their respective lifecycles.

Reports to Senior Management on the P&L performance of assigned Product Lines.

Monitors global market trends for new opportunities and refines understanding of user needs in AE target markets through research and customer visits.

Assesses viability of product concepts & customization requests to meet worldwide market, financial, and technology goals.

Defines product plans, including critical features, price targets, profit, return on investment (ROI), competitive strength, and value delivery.

Guides development and manages tradeoffs of specifications & schedules for new products and/or services.

Manages engineering priorities for assigned product lines assuring alignment of engineering efforts with business goals and customer requirements.

Interfaces with Global Sales, Research and Development, Engineering, Worldwide Customer Support, Operations, Corporate Marketing, Quality, and other partners to ensure new offerings meet technical specifications, cost targets, delivery commitments, and achieve customer adoption.

As needed, coordinates with external partners, Business Development, alternative channels, and third-party integrators.

With Corporate Marketing, drives naming, positioning, literature, collateral, web content, and launch activities.

Coordinates regular forecasting and demand analysis with Sales.

Maye be responsible for managing Product Managers and other Marketing staff members directly reporting to this position, including personnel issues, budgets, and activities.

Uses market research and competitive analysis as needed in these activities to maximize AE global market advantage.

Defines and implements sustaining & end-of-life strategies for mature or declining product lines.

Assists with annual business planning, marketing tools, and infrastructure as needed.



Minimum 2 years experience in product management

Semi-conductor, Industrial coatings, DC power and/or other related industries high preferred.

Prefer some sales, field applications or product marketing management experience in high technology.


Excellent communication skills, both face to face and written.

Broad understanding of end user plasma processing and AE products.

Financial analysis capability.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.

Superior organizational, planning and coordination skills.

Business savvy and strong negotiation skills.

Ability to structure market research and competitive analysis.

Energy and ability to motivate others.



B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, General, or Physics is desirable) or equivalent technical degree


B.S. Business Administration in addition to a technical degree


Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, etc.). Extended hours will be necessary depending on market conditions from time to time. Travel, some domestic and international travel may be required. This position has a significant amount of interdepartmental communications.

This position will be located in our Ft. Collins, CO office.

This role works with the Global Director and his/her team and will be responsible to leading the development and expansion of the Instrument Management segment of the Claros Water Intelligence System business at Hach; handling aspects of Upstream Marketing, Portfolio Development & Management, Global Commercialization and Product Lifecycle Management for this product category. Actively and effectively manages development of Instrument Management product strategies including new product roadmap; leads the commercialization of new products and product enhancements; sets pricing for all products within the portfolio - Develops forecasts for sales of new products and manages actual sales to meet or exceed the forecast - Leads cross-functional problem solving when performance is not meeting targets - Analyzes product portfolio performance, including revenue, profitability, volume, price and quality and converts analysis into key takeaways and actions - Identifies and assesses growth opportunities within core and adjacent space - Leads competitive analysis and research of competitors; understands key opportunities and threats and develops/executes tactics accordingly - Leads the development of solution and value selling approaches that creatively leverage competitive advantage and customer habits - Actively participates in the planning and execution of VOC research to ensure short and long-term commercial success of the current product portfolio and to capture and prioritize key customer needs / wants for future products - Commands the foundational DBS tools, including VOC, Problem Solving, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping; initiates and champions meaningful and sustainable kaizens that improve long-term performance - Represents the company at regional and national trade shows, or other marketing/ commercial events as identified - Communicates product line direction globally to internal, agent and distributor organizations Key working relationships include, but are not limited to the following: External - Professional Societies and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) - Network of Global Water Quality Professionals - Digital Solutions Partner Network(s) Internal - Hach Global Marketing Team - Hach Regional Sales & Marketing Teams - Research & Development Teams (Hach, Digital Solutions) - Global Digital Solutions Commercial Development Team - Global Digital Solutions Partnership Team - Digital Solutions Professional Service & DevOps Teams - Digital Teams at another Danaher OpCo (Incl.
