Marketing Product Manager
Develops specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Product Manager is the upstream marketing representative on app product development core teams. This person is expected to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and will be the marketing champion for defining the G6 app strategy, strategic tradeoffs, and platform expansion opportunities. As such, this role will need to work collaboratively with cross functional teams, marketing partners, and other key stakeholders. This person is a part of the upstream marketing team and will need to be an effective team player, responsible for leading and contributing to shared team goals and responsibilities.
Drive the development of marketing requirements, priorities, and plans for continued evolution, refinement, and extension of the Dexcom App Portfolio.
Partner with User Experience Design, R&D, Operations, Sales and Customer Service organizations in a cross-functional environment to ensure successful development and deployment of app updates and platform expansions.
Work closely with R&D to provide strategic and product guidance for the development of mobile applications.
App Development & Platform Expansion
Define new feature and platform opportunities and customer needs through Voice of Customer, market and competitive analysis
Provide leadership to core teams and marketing in identifying market needs and commercial strategies. Serve as a liaison between the core teams and Marketing.
Collaborate with sales and downstream marketing to coordinate commercial readiness, commercialization/launch planning, and commercial support of portfolio apps
Partner with the Market Research to plan and conduct post-launch surveys and other methods for gathering customer feedback
Collaborate with R&D, Tech Support, and Customer Service organizations to identify enhancement opportunities
Product lifecycle management
Submit invention disclosures and help generate novel ideas, solutions and intellectual property.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsible for understanding and complying with quality standards and requirements.
This position may assume and perform other duties.
Must have knowledge of marketing, market research, business strategy, product development, product design, and app development; proven ability to lead teams and use influence management effectively with cross-functional partners and senior management.
8+ years in product management or related field, preferably for consumer mobile applications and/or consumer health products
Experience defining product requirements and working with R&D to ensure development of products based on customer and business requirements.
Experience working in cross-functional teams covering various internal organizations
Strong presentation, influence, and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in managing products in the medical device and/or diabetes field
Having wide-ranging experience and uses professional concepts and knowledge of company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Possesses knowledge of advanced concepts, techniques, and standards.
Viewed as expert in the field within the Function.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation.
Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
