Maxar is seeking a Product Management Intern to join our 2020 Summer Internship Program in Westminster, CO. In this role, you will assist the Senior Product Manager for SecureWatch through a variety of duties and assigned tasks in order to grow the subscription base and improve product capabilities. This internship opportunity will allow students interested in mapping, geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and remote sensing to work with the Maxar Online product team as it evolves and grows the capabilities in SecureWatch and its delivery to a worldwide commercial customer base. SecureWatch is a web-based, subscription product with a sophisticated API that delivers the best of Maxar to a rapidly growing list of customers for large-scale mapping, monitoring, and more.

About the Team

The Product Management Intern will report directly to the Commercial Senior SecureWatch Product Manager. The Maxar Online product team is responsible for owning and communicating the product vision, leading the development of new software capabilities, adding content, managing subscription accounts, ensuring customers receive training and technical support, and supporting global marketing and sales efforts.

In this position you will be exposed to:

  • Analytics, customer feedback, emerging technical capabilities and content

  • Real world experience of working with analytics team and software development team throughout the course of a product release cycle

  • Developing strategies to improve hosted content and related capabilities (including API) that most impact product value for the customer


  • Become a master user of SecureWatch and understand its place in customer workflows

  • Analyze usage patterns of current subscribers based on big data and Google Analytics

  • Propose improvements for content, capabilities and analytics

  • Assist the Commercial Senior Product Manager with business case for future investments

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be a rising Sophomore or higher currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geospatial Intelligence, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SaaS and analytics experience

  • Web application development experience

  • A successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess strong leadership and communications skills.

The City of Westminster is seeking a responsible professional to work in the City Manager's Office on sustainability issues, particularly with the business community, and with City staff and leadership on internal sustainability projects. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer, and work closely with the Deputy City Managers and City Council, the Executive Leadership Team, the Department of Economic Development, the Innovation and Communication team and staff from all City departments to acquire a broad understanding of their diverse operations. This internship position will last for up to three years. It is ideal for individuals who have completed, or are currently enrolled in, graduate programs in public administration, environmental/sustainability policy and management, business sustainability or closely related fields and possess an interest in pursuing a career in public service, specifically in City government. This position provides assistance, outreach and recognition to local businesses in support of environmentally sustainable practices, which includes energy efficiency, waste reduction and diversion, water conservation and quality, and sustainable transportation. The position also involves working with City leadership, communicating with businesses and citizens on issues and concerns, implementing the strategies and actions of the City's sustainability plan and other general sustainability work. Candidates need to be motivated, self-starting and possess the ability to organize, communicate, and coordinate a diverse range of sustainability projects, including sustainable business assistance and recognition. Work will require attending evening and weekend meetings. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster offers a bonus of up to $1,500 per year depending on the employee's fluency in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Laotian.
