As a Director of Product Management, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead, define and deliver the product vision for Ortho, Ortho Restorative and Retention products and services on the Align Digital Platform. The products will be integrated with visualization experiences on the iTero scanner, Invisalign Doctor Site web portal and practice and patient mobile apps. The key stakeholders include orthodontists, general dentists, patients, dental lab technicians, dental service organizations, universities, and public hospitals.

You will work with teams of product designers, marketing managers, engineers, data scientists and others to build impactful Align Digital Platform products. We are looking for entrepreneurial product leaders who will bring a passion for innovation, strong business acumen and judgment, ability to define products, and work within a fast-moving environment to execute on the product vision that has a broad customer and business impact. In this role you will,

Define Product Vision

  • Including all aspects to roadmap, investment, innovation and experimentation.

Engage Customers

  • Build and manage the customer pipeline. Proactively identify and address customer pain points to increase adoption. Learn from customers to define the product vision and roadmap

Drive execution of Product Planning and Development

  • Including customer goals and business requirements for product release, ensuring implementation is aligned with product goals and requirements, and ownership of product positioning

Lead Product Definition

  • Own and drive the customer working backwards strategy, long-term goals and working backwards documents including customer and market feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction

Lead Product Launch

  • Own the GTM plan to deliver results that ensure the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans

Lead Operations

  • Including monitoring and response to customer feedback, continuous improvement and business growth

Lead interaction with Engineering team

  • Including helping the technical team make tradeoffs based on customer requirements, QA/testing of the product

Influence senior leaders across Align Technology and communicate the Align Digital Platform vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact

In this role, you will…

  • Develop a deep understanding of Align customers (Orthodontists, Dentists, Labs, DSOs, etc.) through market research, industry tradeshows, customer visits and close relationships. Communicate and leverage this knowledge with cross-functional teams to assure understanding and buy-in

  • Have an intimate knowledge of your customer's job-to-be-done and the metrics that customers use to measure success when getting the job done

  • Strong customer empathy, with an ability to transform complex data and customer insights into a prioritized roadmap

  • Understand Align's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry

  • Create a competitive land scape to understand Align position within the market, identify gaps and suggest actionable path to address those gaps

  • Is the primary driver for identifying significant opportunities, and driving product vision, strategies and roadmaps in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals

  • Incorporate data, research and market analysis to inform product strategies and roadmaps

  • Build business cases which encompass multi-year revenue projections, COGS estimates, market objectives, and strategic objectives (as relevant). Lead cross-functional team members to develop, socialize, and create buy-in of the business justification and solutions that will address the customer needs and opportunities

  • Establish tradeoffs between internal development and partnership activities - including contract negotiations and maintenance, product changes, forecasting and financials.

  • Coordinating the needs across a multi-functional organization, including marketing, sales, operations, R&D, and customer services teams, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements

  • Evangelize for the product by presenting to customer and user groups; represent the product at trade shows; sell product family roadmap internally; generate enthusiasm for the product.

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and designers to deliver extraordinary products

In this role, you'll need …

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related field.

  • Previous experience in similar / relevant position

  • Healthcare / Medical / Dental product / industry acumen is advantage

  • 15+ years' experience in product management, product development or related field.

  • 5+ years' understanding of software development / engineering of SaaS products

  • Deep Product Management expertise, including market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, requirements, product life-cycle management

  • Understand the fundamentals of deep learning, and machine learning

  • Leadership skills to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategy

  • Innovation - develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas

  • Team oriented - ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to work globally

  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers.

Primary Location Base Salary Range: $217,700 to $260,600 USD

Base salary ranges are a guideline used to determine appropriate pay. Placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable commission plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
