Job Title: Product Line Specialist
Summary of Job:
Under direction of General Manager (GM), manage product strategy within the specified product category. Coordinate with the GM on research, development, planning and execution of the strategic business direction for the category. Development of new products and associated launch plan, pricing, promotions, communications, expense budgeting, sales support, and various internal/external projects
Responsibility:
Execute assigned strategy for product sales and profitability for category
Manage operating expenses within the category as directed by GM
New Product Development process coordination with R&D
Coordinates development priorities for each product within the category
Reviews and analyzes product proposals to determine derived benefits and possible applications to justify expenditures. Presents analysis to GM for final approval.
Coordination assignment and creation for MSRP, parts #'s, marketing and technical specs
Coordinate all aspects of new product launches with internal teams
Identify new market opportunity
Rationalize product list within category as part of lifecycle management process
Train key stakeholders on new and existing product lines
Provide input on product pricing and program structure
Analyze and collaborate solutions to late orders/backlogs
Coordinate new supplier development
Liaison with Quality Department on product manufacturing issues
Develop 3-year strategic plan for assigned product line with GM collaboration
Review product features and benefits /technical info in all creative design work.
Attend trade shows and other industry activities as warranted
Write product specs, features and benefits
Assist in forecasting monthly product line revenue targets
Other duties as assigned by GM
Required Experience
One to three years related experience.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree, MBA or advanced degree preferred
Qualifications
Must have excellent communication (verbal/written) skills
Quantitative and analysis skills; project management skills
Ability to execute assigned tasks with minimal oversight
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and be relied upon to interface and contribute to the leadership team when necessary.
50%+ travel required
Supervisory responsibility
May have 1 or more direct reports
