JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager, Product Line Management will be a business owner that defines and heads the execution of strategic initiatives within the Connectivity product line for Stoneridge. The role requires a strong leader who has the willingness and ability to drive cross-functional team members towards that goal. Connectivity currently includes tachograph, telematics, and digital services.

The Manager, Product Line Management will be responsible for developing, communicating, obtaining alignment, and executing the global product line strategy for Connectivity and the product line strategy for Controls.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key Objectives -

  • Strategy Development: Develop and lead the product, technology, and customer go-to-market plans to execute mid-term and long-term growth targets

  • Commercial Ownership: Drive the profitability improvement strategy

  • Own and analyze the understanding of market, industry, and competitive trends in the development of the overall product line direction

  • Develop robust view of direct and indirect competition, competitor value proposition, and competitor roadmaps.

  • Drive development and execution of strategic product/technology roadmaps in strong partnership with Engineering with the overall primary goal of maximizing business growth, profitability, and differentiation

  • Own prioritization and business case development of advanced projects aligned with the long-range, 5-year revenue plan

  • Drive competitive benchmarking activities

  • Focus team towards strategic priorities

  • Engage with M&A synergy and business case analysis and assessments

  • Own Total Available Market model

  • Commercial Development

  • Drive alignment between strategy and commercial process (long-range revenue and profitability commitment, budget commitments of profitability improvements, footprint alignment, etc.)

  • Ensure competitive cost structures by working with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, and operations to develop targets and corresponding improvement plans

  • Manage product life cycle to ensure that the business is consistently driving improved profitability across all assigned product segments

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • 15+ years of transportation and/or mobility experience

  • 8+ years on product management, program management, quoting, marketing, or similar commercial responsibility

  • Bachelors Degree required, technical degree preferred but not required

  • MBA preferred

  • Commercial Vehicle experience a plus

  • Experience with gateways, domain controllers, and/or control units

  • In-depth understanding of product marketing and demonstrated ability to generate new market leads and opportunities in-line with the strategic plan

  • Direct experience in development of strategic product/technology roadmaps and product development

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team in a matrix organization

  • Demonstrated technical understanding and a high degree of analytical capability

  • Ability to collect/synthesize/interpret data and recommend direction; ability to challenge assumptions in a data driven fashion

  • Very strong data analytical skills (Excel, database manipulations, formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

  • Strong business and financial sense

  • Excellent communication and customer presentation skills and results oriented

  • Demonstrated high-level, out-of-the-box thinking, analytical reasoning, and creative problem solving skills

LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 20% domestic/international travel

  • Minimum three days a week in the office expected
