ABOUT THIS JOB

LiveRamp products generate petabytes of data. This data contains valuable information which is used to build secondary products, fuel intelligence on our product for both product development and client dashboards as well as satisfy regulatory requirements. The data engineer will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the systems that keep this data available, accurate and accessible by those that need it. Key stakeholders are the LiveRamp Product team who seek to make data-driven decisions, the technical services team who rely on up to date data to support our customers and the engineering teams who generate the data. You will become an expert in how our products work and how customers use them. You will find creative ways to simulate changes, and measure the results. You will own internal data models and work with other engineering teams to implement them.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with LiveRamp architects to design and develop company wide data models

  • Use GCP services to build out efficient infrastructure & processes that allow LiveRamp teams to access to the data they need quickly and efficiently

  • Work with Product Managers, Engineers and Analysts to recommend ways to track key metrics

  • Assist Product Managers in designing data products that we can expose to our customers

  • Use your product and system knowledge to make recommendations for product and architectural improvements

  • Work with Product Managers to track reliability of their products.

  • Work with Product Analysts to efficiently expose data for product reliability and health via downstream dashboards.

ABOUT YOU

  • 03+ years experience designing and implementing interfaces and infrastructure for large volume services and RESTful APIs

  • 03+ years experience architecting and implementing real time logging and monitoring systems for complex products and workflows using platforms like Kafka, ElasticSearch, LogDNA, DataDog, New Relic, (use a subset of the list)

  • 03+ years experience building ETL pipelines using cloud providers like AWS or GCP (ideally GCP)

  • Broad knowledge of big data tech stacks and interested in learning new technologies

  • Extensive experience with data processing platforms such as Hadoop, Spark

  • Expert experience in building, maintaining, optimising and querying relational databases Experience with BigQuery is a plus.

  • Proficient in Java. Bonus if proficient in Go or Python

  • Understand how to optimise cloud resources to efficiently store and retrieve petabytes of data

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and delivering projects that require cooperation from other teams

  • Ability to communicate to non-technical stakeholders

  • You have a type S(tartup) personality: smart, ethical, friendly, hardworking and proactive

About the Role Data is central to Twitch's decision-making process, and business intelligence engineers operate at the forefront of this by creating datasets that improve analysis, decision-making and machine learning pipelines across all of Twitch. You will shape the way that our performance is measured, defining how we transform our data, and scaling analytics methods and tools to support our growing business, leading the way for high-quality, high velocity decisions. For this role, we're looking for an experienced business intelligence engineer to join our Viewers analytics team, which is focused on providing product analytics for our product team and pristine data used to train recommendations and search models. Your work will include developing and enhancing data sets and cubes that improve our metrics and machine learning pipelines. In the process, you will interact with technical and non-technical staff members throughout the company, and your effort will have a direct impact on hundreds of people at Twitch. You Will: * Build datasets in Twitch's data warehouse that represent the source of truth for our key metrics: Dive deep to understand data lineage, implement new dimensions and measures, and write documentation for data consumers * Keep existing data sources fresh against changing requirements, definitions, and data quality issues.
