The Manager, Product Information Management (PIM) is responsible for the efficient creation, management and distribution of product and specification data used on Tripp Lite's website, and by resellers and channel partners. This role works closely with Product Managers and other in-house content creators to ensure that product information is accurate, complete and effective. This role is also responsible for the maintenance of product and content taxonomies, data entry templates, and the overall catalog structure.
The Manager, Product Information Management (PIM) works closely with technical, product management, and marketing communications staff across the company, so strong communication and task coordination skills are essential. The successful candidate will be a confident, goal-driven self-starter with an obsession for data quality, an intuitive understanding of systems and workflows, and a strong attention to detail.
Product Information Plan: Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to develop the vision for product information management
Problem Solving: Leverage knowledge of data, systems and workflows to develop data-driven solutions to business needs
Data Workflow Support: Provide guidance, coordination and hands-on assistance to data contributors across departments
Catalog Structure Management: Partner with Product Management to maintain and enhance website navigation and catalog structure to ensure products are logically organized and easily found.
PIM Team Manager: Provide day-to-day management of Data Management Specialists.
System Access: Manage user access to systems, add and revoke access and permissions
Data Management: Perform data-related activities such as auditing, editing, reviewing, approving, organizing, structuring, defining and loading.
Merge Data and Content: Liaise with copywriters, graphic and/or multimedia specialists in the creation of product descriptions, images, video and other unstructured content used on the website.
Data Standards: Create and maintain standards for website data and related processes
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, economics, mathematics/statistics or a similar technical or data-intensive field
At least 2 years experience in a data management role
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, familiarity with HTML, search engine optimization (SEO), SQL
Ability to read and analyze web metrics data
Familiarity with the power and connectivity market a plus\
Self-starter with positive attitude, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills and customer orientation
Excellent writing and editing ability, grammar, versatility in writing styles and proven ability to write compelling web-ready content
Ability to manage large-scale projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
Understanding of data management principles, taxonomies and relational database design
