Location: Downers Grove, IL
Purpose and Objective: SAP America, Inc. seeks a Product Expert at our Downers Grove, IL location under supervision, assist with integration strategy and prioritize projects by balancing business needs versus technical constraints.
Expectations and Tasks: Articulate business opportunities and needs into product integration requirements with concise and clear definitions of prioritized features for the technical teams to implement.
Define how integration will work by driving detailed requirements, clear priorities and actionable functional specifications. Define product requirements, use cases, strategy and roadmap for Ariba engineering and QA teams. Ensure delivered functionality meets the requirements of external and internal stakeholders.
Ensure roadmap delivers clear value to customers and system integration partners. Write, review, edit & present technical and functional marketing collateral including presentations, webcasts, data sheets, high-level and detailed feature descriptions. Work with Alliances Team to coordinate strategic third party vendors and OEM partnerships.
Work on Ariba Network supplier-side integration strategy, work on integration approach for suppliers, work on product roadmaps, release products based on the integration strategy, work with Engineering, QA, Documentation on the product releases, and work with technical experts the products. Work on the following types of projects: Ariba Network supplier side integration, Integration using various standards and formats EDIFACT, ANSI X12, PIDX, OAGIS, EANCOMM, Integration with SAP and other ERPs, work with the Early Adopter Care program, design our care program for early customers, and ensure that these early customers successfully go live on the products.
Assist with customer escalations, work with the company's Internet of Things (IoT) integration strategy, define approach and work with customers/partners on IoT, compile proof of concept for IoT, and work with initial beta customers to prove our solution works. Release the general availability version of the solution. Work on the solution roadmap.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field of study and 7 years of experience required. Will accept a Master's degree and 5 years of experience.
Work Experience: Experience with product management, consulting and development.
Experience with various integration methods and formats for ERPs and third party systems, especially SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and Lawson. Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and middleware technologies. Experience working with enterprise technologies and a specific focus on data, middleware, APIs, web services and XML standards (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML Schema, etc.). Experience with SaaS and cloud applications.
Experience with scrum and other agile development methods. Experience with sourcing, procurement, invoicing and payment solutions.
