The Product Engineer is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of all production activities on the warehouse floor. These activities include but are not limited to maintaining all customer files (writing and updating), troubleshooting any and all issues that should arise from the configuration phase through customer acceptance to final delivery of product.

The Product Engineer must possess superior communication skills, as remaining connected and open with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to be up to date on all hardware, software, tool and/or cable changes. Along customer partnership and experience participating, designing and executing product solution and OEM configuration, effectively and aligned to Ingram Micro policies and client demand.

Essential Skills, Experience &

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent 4-year College Degree or 2-year technical degree

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience preferred OEM Certificate preferred Visual Basic and Microsoft office VBA preferred Pre-employment drug screen All OEM/ODM loading and testing equipment preferred

  • Excellent skill set in communicating and customer facing

  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple tasks/initiatives, think through and effectively respond to rapid change, quickly grasp new concepts and programs within Ingram Micro Commerce and Lifecycle Services and Logistics industry and perform duties with accuracy and sense of urgency

  • Reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills

  • Manufacture, logistics and or distribution industry knowledge

We are an industry leader in molding, painting and assembly, with expertise in developing exterior systems and modules for our customers' global programs. Job Introduction This position reports directly to the Engineering Department Leader and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below: Major Responsibilities * Work with the Program Manager to provide input on product direction. * Provide technical expertise and sales support for quoting of new and exiting programs. * Assist in bringing a product from customer concept/design to full production status including design feasibilities. * Maintain program costs within budget. Prepare and issue complete request for quote packages to potential suppliers, and complete a competitive analysis prior to awarding business. Use the Decostar Tooling Manual along with engineering drawings and math data as a guideline for quotes. * Manage and support the Decostar APQP Process via the development of the program execution plan under the guidelines of the APQP process. * Coordinate secondary tooling in conjunction with the Tooling Manager and the Program Manager. Check fixtures will be quoted according to specific design standards. * Maintain program information sheets, B.O.M., design records and PPAP binders. * Work with the Advanced Quality Manager to prepare documentation to support submission packages. * Provide all part requirements for customer order up to and including pilot parts. * Provide any required assistance to production needs including the training of production team members during start-up phases as required. * Become the lead Program Engineer on the program after launch and manage the cost analysis, VE/VA, engineering changes and CI actions on each specified program. Knowledge and Education * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent required. * Ability to speak, write, and read Korean Work Experience * Injection and/or Reaction Injection Molding experience for a minimum of 5 years. * Minimum 5 years of product engineering experience. * Experience dealing with customers and suppliers. Skills and Competencies * Trained in FMEA, GD&T, VE/VA, PPAP, and Control Plans an asset. * Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision making skills, negotiating skills along with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally. * Injection and/or Reaction Injection Molding experience for a minimum of 5 years Additional Information * Must have the ability to speak, write, and read Korean.
