Product Engineer - Variable Frequency Drives (Vfd)

Position Duties and

Plans and implements product introductions including pricing, promotion, training, demonstrations, and literature.
Liaison with factory and overseas marketing personnel to define, justify, and coordinate new product development.
Understands customer applications, products, systems, and business issues.
Performs industry and competitor research to discover and validate key differentiators.
Plans and executes strategic activities to penetrate targeted industry and convert target accounts.
Monitors progress of target account activities against established goals.
Provides on-site commercial support as the subject matter expert.
Manages key initiatives and projects in conjunction with Sales, Technical Support Group, Engineering Group, and/or third parties.
Provides management with strategic and tactical plans to increase sales and market share.
Coordinates with Supply Chain Management on sales forecasts, new product introductions, and product phase-out to support inventory planning.

Travel Requirements
25% travel within the Americas and occasionally Japan.

Strong interpersonal skills and presence to deal effectively with internal and external customers
Excellent writing, oral, and presentation skills
Computer Skills/Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Beneficial Skills and Experience
Experience in Japanese business culture environment
Familiarity with SAP ECC/SAP CRM

Required Experience
BS in Engineering or Business equivalent.
5+ years experience in industrial automation sales, marketing, and/or applications engineering.
Technical/commercial knowledge of industrial automation products, including one or more of the following: Variable Frequency Drives, Servo/Motion, PLC, HMI, CNC, Robot and Various Industrial Networks
Experience with common VFD applications such as fan & pump, crane & hoist, compressors, winding & unwinding, conveyors, etc.
Ability to handle multiple and concurrent priorities

Requirements: Basic Qualifications: Associates' degree and 7 years' experience in B2B sales OR Bachelors' degree and 5 years' experience in B2B sales * A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience. * A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience.
