Pella Corporation is looking for a talented Product Engineer in Pella, Iowa.

As a Product Engineer you will be responsible for moderately complex engineering projects. You will also:

  • Coordinate work within the scope of assigned projects to ensure objectives in terms of quality, cost, and time are met.

  • Prepare project schedules and reviews cost estimates, compile required cost and equipment information, and write appropriation requests.

  • Responsible for effective communication of engineering information among team members.

  • Follow the structure of Pella's Safety, Quality, Project Management & Continuous Improvement Systems from concept through project execution.

  • Supervise assigned technical team members and coordinates their work within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

  • Serve as a resource to others as assigned, providing technical information and engineering recommendations that assist with projects.

  • Contribute to project identification and definition.

  • Develop, implement and/or support assigned technologies, products, and processes.

  • Responsible for other projects as assigned by supervisor. Duties may overlap with design and process engineering work.

Additional Responsibilities:

Develop and implement design changes for productivity, customer service, new product development, and quality improvements. Manage projects of varying levels in parallel. Implement product designs within the schedule and budget parameters. Identify and communicate implementation problems or resource issues that may affect the schedule or budget. Analyze the risks of new designs or processes and communicates results to Project / Sr. engineer. Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design. Interface with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions. Apply technical and functional expertise. Manage and improve processes. Foster collaboration. Establish plans. Coach and develop people while leading courageously. Drive execution.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math, or relevant Science or combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of engineering experience.

  • Some experience with Solid Edge and the Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project.

  • Lean Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
