Position Objective:

To provide engineering support for manufacturing and marketing functions. This position is responsible for the design and development of components and new products to meet customer and market needs

Principal Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design and sustenance of a range of products including cost control

  • Schedules project completion to meet Order To Delivery ( OTD ) requirements

  • Responsible for reviewing Product Change Requests (PCR's) for their product range and taking appropriate action.

  • Develops special designs to meet special customer requests and provides the essential supporting calculations

  • Checks and releases completed work assigned to Engineers and drafting personnel

  • Prepares Bills of Material (BOM) and provides purchasing department with specifications for ordering raw materials and components required for fabrication and assembly

  • Interfaces with production during product build to insure product compliance with design formation and delivery requirements

  • Trains and develops engineers and designers. Develops technical and managerial competence of direct reports.

Must have the ability to prioritize/re-prioritize tasks, carry out root cause analysis, and deal with scheduling conflicts

Knowledge and Education:

BS Engineering. Masters degree will be advantageous.

  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office, 3D Modeling Software (Pro/Engineer preferred), and Mfg/Pro, preferred

  • Experience in Mechanical design, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems.
