Purpose of Job Clariant Cargo & Device Protection (CDP), a business group of Clariant Functional Minerals, offers a complete portfolio of desiccant, oxygen absorber, and humidity indicator solutions to help protect goods from moisture and oxygen through the entire supply chain. Worldwide manufacturing sites include: Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, United States, and China.
Clariant is seeking a New Product Implement (NPI) and Master Data Management professional for its Belen, New Mexico location. This individual will drive all qualification activities within a project from initial qualification through to issue within the Quality Control department for the Cargo Device Protection (CDP) organization. Provide analytical leadership, a level of project management, technical and quality knowledge to all aspects of product analytics and support master data management in SAP.
Facilitate and supports clients through method development activities leading up to GMP manufacture.
Ensure QC qualification/validation activities take place in line with S&OP business milestones, provide timely identification and escalation of at-risk milestones using business tools (e.g.: Gantt charts, trackers, risk assessments, e.g.) and drive remediation or mitigation.
Ensure Management of Change process is utilized and adhered to in all phases of development, validation and ultimately, release to production.
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Coordinate with other department from Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning and others for the flawless execution of projects and product validations.
Keep updated with production of new products from project planning to its production.
Ensure that the new products are safe and maintains its high quality for the customers.
Ensure specifications are in line with method and process capabilities.
Troubleshoot, investigate, root cause analysis into qualification failures and method issues.
Make project cost estimates including the resources, capital and other requirements to make the project successful.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors to improve the new products
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Represent the team where necessary at internal, customer and regulatory audits
SAP Master Data Management
Manage SAP Master Data for materials including Material Master views, BOM and Recipes.
Validate and assist operations to build new materials
Manage / coordinate change control processes as needed.
Responsible for maintaining artwork status for new and existing materials.
Assists in the costing and feasibility analysis of projects to determine production viability
Developing formula, specifications & label declarations. Ensure finished product specifications.
Interface with QC to ensure samples meet customer specifications.
CLNX (continuous improvement) and Innovation (new product introduction) project tracking.
BS Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. Chemistry degree preferred.
3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment desired
Must have excellent overall computer skills, SAP experience is required
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt a plus
Fluent in English, additional language proficiency a plus
Ability to work varied work hours
Must be a self starter and able to make fast and accurate decisions
Must be results oriented with ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Ability to travel as needed
