The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring effective and integrated marketing and promotional plans are created and delivered to the most impactful target audiences to drive profitable growth for Hubbell Control Solutions. The position will interface with Product Management, Marketing, Sales and Customers (agents, specifiers, engineers, distributors, contractors, end-users).
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the New Product Introduction Process. Participate as a team member, work package approver and collaborator. Serve as a key liaison to the Product Manager and Project Manager.
Develop comprehensive product launch plans to include sales tools, web content, product pricing, adoption strategy, product samples
Responsible for Product Marketing Positioning. Understand Why New Product is Created. Work with product management to understand target markets and end-users and develop messaging and commercialization plan
Support Voice of Customer activities - Identify new product needs of the marketplace from interaction with end users, specifiers, distributors, agents, OEM's
You will be the Commercialization launch process owner. Present Marketing Plans at Tollgate 4 HNPD Review
Provide promotional planning. Develop the Marketing Plan & promotional tactics for launches. Co-develop Marketing Tools.
Responsible for marketing program management. Ensure an integrated marketing plan is delivered on-time for key NPI launches. Liaison between Product Manager, Project Management, Channel, Sales, Digital Teams for market launch plans.
Responsible for project tracking. Diligent use of project tracker to manage timelines to ensure NPI (new product introduction) commercialization aligns with HNPD timing.
Work with Project Manager(s) to coordinate and monitor progress of all new product development launches
Serve as subject-matter expert on assigned product lines to the Marcomm content & demand generation team.
Responsible for the production and coordination (with Marketing Communication team) of all reference material/technical information for publication to field sales and customers
Provide guidance to internal and external creative resources to ensure brand vision and key messaging is captured.
Author presentations. Create or collaborate to build effective presentations for internal and external use to support product sell-in, explain positioning or to gain buy-in and approval of commercialization activities.
Provide tradeshow support. Serve as a key consultant and contributor on product displays and creating the user experience to effectively showcase features and benefits.
Create selling tools. Develop marketing collateral that explains the market positioning for identified key audiences. Requires providing creative direction to the commercialization design team to ensure effective strategic messaging.
Responsible for budget management. Track the Budget for Commercialization Marketing Expenses. Adhere to budget guidelines. Make spending recommendations based upon revenue projections and ROI for the expense. Work directly with Marketing Manager to ensure launch is within planned SG&A; and track ROI post-commercialization
Maintain updated webcast calendar and ensure effective materials are prepared for the agent webcasts
Skills and Experience
Bachelors of Science Degree in Business, Marketing or other applied Science is required
Masters Degree Preferred
5-8 years' experience within a corporate marketing team or agency supporting manufactured finished good. Lighting controls experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience in Product/Project Management, Engineering, and/or Software is preferred
Strong leadership and team-building skills needed
Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams is required
Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to successfully develop, launch and execute multiple projects to target goals
