Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to join the team!

The Product Manager is a key leadership role within our Marketing & Communications department, responsible for representing the customer's needs throughout the product journey and product lifecycle. Responsible for product lifecycle management of insurance products including market research, product development, launch execution, ongoing performance monitoring, and continual product enhancements. The Product Manager brings customer needs and value creation into alignment with company goals and objectives to deliver measurable results for the organization. This role leads cross-functional teams, following product best practices, to deliver innovative and competitive insurance solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for customers by gathering feedback, analyzing data, conducting research, and prioritizing customer-centric features.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the target market, customer profile, and competitive dynamics to develop growth-supporting products.
  • Support leadership in developing product strategies, roadmaps, and backlog prioritization for Auto and Home Insurance products to ensure alignment with customer expectations and company goals. Support the end-to-end product lifecycle for Auto and/or Home Insurance products from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Act as the primary expert for the product line and its features. Showcase a deep understanding of the product's marketing, purchasing, servicing, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate on research, design, delivery, compliance, and support as the product knowledge expert.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and go-to-market strategies. Engage stakeholders to understand business challenges and objectives and to develop product-oriented solutions.
  • Coordinate with the Product Management Team to monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings at a state and national level.
  • Align with Marketing, Digital, and Communications teams to support lead generation, go-to-market strategy, and other tactical efforts where product can support growth and other company priorities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor actions, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies. Identify and recommend market opportunities when they emerge.
  • Support training, change management, and talent activation to equip business units in promoting and servicing products.
  • Serve as a product evangelist by inspiring and supporting the organization to understand the value our products create. This includes delivering presentations, performing product demonstrations, leading product launches, and offering post-launch support to all of our business units.
  • May be called upon to handle other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or product management, preferably in the insurance industry. In lieu of prior product development or product management experience, similar work experience in the personal lines P&C industry working on cross-functional projects in support of the customer will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of Auto and Home Insurance products and the Property & Casualty insurance market.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, and decision-making skills are required. Experience with SQL and other query languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data tools to self-service many analytics needs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with customers and also with a variety of teams from across the organization to manage priorities and achieve results.
  • May be required to travel periodically.
