Job Summary:

The Subsystem Electrical Products, a part of our team, is currently searching for an Engineer with experience in circuit card/printed wiring board assembly, manufacturing, and the integrated assembly of electronic components into a subsystem.

Responsibilities include supporting the Electrical Products design community as the affordability, manufacturability, and producibility expert for all Missiles and Defense Programs. Tasks include involvement in digital, analog, and RF design projects from initial bill-of-material selection through Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and subsystem assembly including resolution on all technical and supplier related issues. Throughout the product lifecycle the Product Development Engineer (PDE) follows the Missiles and Defense Systems Integrated Product Development System to create an affordable, producible, and highly reliable design that meets the program's delivery and milestones needs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • PDEs are responsible to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for input to the design process in areas such as materials selection, construction, layout, component selection and placement, design rule interpretation and application, and current Missiles and Defense capabilities and practices.

  • PDEs create development schedules/plans and ensure timely participation of relevant functions (Mechanical Engineering, ECAD, Parts Engineering, Planners, and Suppliers) in the development process.

  • Periodic travel to suppliers for assessments and product readiness reviews may be required.

  • PDEs facilitate the prototype development process, support the Producibility Engineering community, and participate in reviews.

  • PDEs provide assistance with identifying and developing key PCB/CCA supplier partners.

Please Note: This position can be an Electrical Engineer II or Sr. Electrical Engineer I based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master's is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

  • A minimum of 2 years for Electrical Engineer II and 4 years for Sr. Electrical Engineer I of circuit card design or PCB/CCA manufacturing experience required.

  • Experience in PCB manufacturing and circuit card assembly.

  • Knowledge and experience in the realm of assembly verification test and integrated assembly

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Experience and detailed working knowledge of IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.

  • Experience and knowledge and understanding of the PCB manufacturing and tooling process and how PCB design attributes drive cost and producibility.

  • Detailed Circuit Card Assembly process knowledge and experience and the ability to drive the component placement, component selection and material selection and have a positive effect on CCA manufacturability.

  • Work independently without direct supervision

  • Collaboration across the RMD Design Community in order to achieve organizational and programmatic objectives.

  • Demonstrate strong project coordination and task management skills

  • Knowledge in supply chain management and program management

Job Summary: We are currently hiring a Sr/Principal Software Engineer to join the Relocatable-Over-The-Horizon Radar (ROTHR) team in Huntsville, AL. ROTHR is an established program with a broad variety of complex sub-systems and technologies that range from mainframes, Windows client/server, and Linux clusters, to embedded Linux with custom FPGA processing. ROTHR is part of the Missile Defense and Surveillance Systems Engineering team within Raytheon Missile Defense. As a member of the team, the Senior Software Engineer will provide support and ongoing enhancements to operational high-frequency surveillance radars located in Virginia, Texas, and Puerto Rico. The Software Engineer role will encompass, to varying degrees, all phases of the software engineering life cycle. The Software Engineer will work as both an individual contributor and team member using Agile development practices.
