Scentsy is looking for a Product Development Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and and review consumer products and product certifications.

What You Would Do:

  • Drive product certification by working with partner test labs and Scentsy's legal team

  • Outline testing protocol and evaluation process for product validation and quality criteria creation

  • Review and communicate design changes to international manufacturing facilities

  • Identify critical characteristics required for optimal product quality and functionality

  • Train Quality Assurance (QA) Auditors on-the product specifications

  • Identify risks with critical parameters and characteristics to the manufacturing process and work with appropriate teams to mitigate the risks

  • Drive product improvement initiatives and activities and follow through to create Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as required

  • Coordinate with Scentsy's legal team to maintain product safety and compliance criteria for all products assigned

  • Maintain accurate and up to date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry developments as they relate to product components and functionality

  • Provide technical knowledge and support for creation of certification and testing procedures for both mechanical and electrical parts

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives within the development team to provide product specification perspective

  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

You Should Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, manufacturing engineering, or other related field

  • 3-5 years of product electrical engineering preferred

  • Experience with LED and rechargeable battery-operated product design, a plus

  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360

  • Experience certifying consumer products through international test labs

Things You Should Know & Be Able To Do:

  • Quickly respond to all ad hoc requests for failure and defect analysis from QA or other departments

  • Maintain relationships with established suppliers and industry counterparts

  • Act as a technical adviser to other departments from product functioning support and products development perspectives

  • May occasionally work non-traditional work hours to accommodate international business needs

  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies and safety rules as outlined by the company

  • 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required

  • International travel will be required, up to 30% of the time

  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills

  • General understanding of Scentsy product lines

  • Basic understanding of varying international business practices

  • Understanding of the Direct Selling business model preferred

  • Proficient in ability to lay out time-line and understand departmental interdependencies

  • Good organizational and communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines

  • Regularly works around production equipment, raw chemicals, and strong scents

The focus of this position is to work with Paylocity leadership to ensure enhancements and challenges to our products are complete and appropriately communicated to our development team. The position will assist our developers to help investigate issues and to transform client enhancement into actionable stories for the Development team. Part of the responsibilities of the role will communicate progress and resolution to internal stakeholders. This role also engages with stakeholders to drive improvements in how they perform their work and leverage technology. A successful Product Release Project Manager will effectively use their resources, both people and technology, to fill the business needs and must have a talent for collaboration and the ability to critically prioritize client concerns. What You'll Do: * Work with key stakeholders, Product Analysts, and development early on in feature definition to understand targeted users and feature goals, suggest measurements, events to track and KPIs and dashboard specifications * Help investigate issues and to transform client unmet needs into actionable stories for the Development team * Communicate findings and recommendations across all levels of the organization and work towards creating a data-informed culture at Paylocity * Develop, maintain and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of assigned products, with the ability to support our internal and external end users as needed * Ongoing analysis of current product line to ensure that we are providing top-tier products to our clients * Ability to work with organizational data and identify trends for areas of improvement * Act as a "go to" for critical situations, projects, or escalations as assigned * Assist in business project plans as needed * Assist in feature rollout plans, which includes client communication for new software features and coordinate operational activities for releases, changes or unexpected software down time * Enable internal teams and clients to maximize the systems capabilities * Create communications, knowledge and procedures to maximize products usage What You Bring: * Communication is a key factor for a successful Product Release Project Manager * Intermediate Excel with success in maintaining and organizing data. Skilled in VLOOKUP formula development, Pivot Table generation, and Pivot reporting. * Next level research and test functionality is required for troubleshooting * Prepare key presentations for key stakeholders, development, and executives * Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines * Assist in training and documentation such as procedures, guidelines, and technical references * Work through next-level analytical problems by using out of the box thinking that others could not solve for by providing creative solutions * Possess a positive demeanor to work with individuals with minimal technological aptitude. Able to translate technical knowledge into actionable direction Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field with outstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge * 3+ years of technical experience in Payroll / Human Capital Management, preferably at a SaaS provider * Project Management (PMP) certifications * Deep domain expertise in payroll, benefits, time & labor, or human capital management * Strong MS Office skills, especially with Excel, specifically being able to import data and use pivot tables, and VLOOKUP * Experience with SQL or other relational databases * Excellent analytical, organizational, technology skills, written and oral communication skill * Working knowledge of Salesforce / platform and applications * Previous experience with Atlassian JIRA tracking tool (or similar agile tool) * Up to 15% travel is required for Paylocity initiatives Preferred: * Lean Six Sigma certifications * Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications #SH Paylocity Meridian ID
