Production/Product Development

From sourcing raw materials to manufacturing, order placement, pricing, quality control and getting the finished product where it needs to be, our production/product development team is responsible for ensuring we keep our standards high and our business profitable at every step of the journey. Specific Responsibilities Would Include

The Product Development Assistant supports the seasonal product needs, in collaboration with a cross-functional teams that include Production, Design, Sales, and Overseas Offices to develop and execute assigned product lines.

Strategy & Innovation

  • Assist and take direction from Designer(s) and Senior Designer(s) for preliminary design research as it pertains to yarns, trims, etc.

  • Assist in development of seasonal hosiery collections.

Operations & Results

  • Support Designer(s) in creating preparation of specification sheets from sketches; prepare linesheets and products for line review meetings; occasionally assist with colorups and recolors.

  • Track design schedule to ensure timely execution of product development calendar.

  • Maintain product development logs, line sheet specs; maintain designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and shared internal drives.

  • Send requests for product creation in PLM, be responsible for all product updates throughout the development season ensuring PLM is correct and up to date.

  • Issue and maintain development of product to overseas factories at every stage: concept, proto, market, and pre-production.

  • Daily email communication with overseas factories to ensure timely arrival of samples at every stage.

  • Send samples to licensors as necessary at every stage.

  • Research and coordinate raw materials and trims for approval; maintain yarn and trim library.

  • Review lab dips and samples with Designer(s) and Senior Designer(s); coordinate print and graphics where appropriate; assist with fit process; keep detailed notes on products to send to factories for revisions.

Customers & Relationships

  • Build collaborative relationships and follow-up with overseas vendors and internal teams.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly detail oriented, meticulous, excellent note taker.

  • Knowledgeable in PLM - experience is a plus.

  • Solution-driven problem solver.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with excellent email follow-up capabilities.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Development or Fashion Design.

  • 1-2 years of experience in apparel/knitwear/hosiery design.

  • Have an interest in leg wear products including socks, hosiery and leggings.

  • Proficient in technology (Mac computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop).

Salary Range: $51,000 - $55,000

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
