Overview

We are looking for a bright, talented Engineer that enjoys design and is passionate about developing the next generation Electrical Modules & Components. The Sr. Product Develop Associate Lead Engineer is responsible for module & component development with a major emphasis on requirements capture, reliability & quality issue resolution, supplier management and vehicle testing. We work closely with component suppliers as well as internal teams (EES Systems, Body, HVAC and Powertrain) to match the requirements to designs.

The Sr. Product Develop Associate Lead Engineer provides technical and analytical support to Integrated Product Development. They also will serve as an engineering resource for the delivery of vehicle components and systems via Design & Release, Engineering Change Management, Issue Resolution, Manufacturing Issues, Validation Testing, Supplier Quality, and Purchasing as the product(s) moves through the program gates from concept to production and distribution.

  • Firsthand experience in the design and development of Electrical Modules & Components, from initial concepts through design, validation, and launch

  • Generate ideas through Benchmarking, initiate engineering changes for cost reduction, new programs & quality improvement

  • Ability to interface with suppliers for Product Development and manage the overall timing of the module or component into production

  • Product, Tooling & Process knowledge for Electrical Modules & Components commodities

  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues as the product(s) move to production and distribution

  • Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level

Position Purpose and Requirements

Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Works closely with development engineers to create design prototypes and models. Troubleshoots prototype and model failures.

Basic Requirements

  • Associate's degree and at least 6 years of engineering experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of engineering experience

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge with Vector CANalyzer

  • Knowledge with Diamond Logic Builder

  • Knowledge troubleshooting electrical systems with a DVOM & oscilloscope

  • Overall knowledge of how the electrical modules and component interface with the vehicle platforms and their applications

  • Knowledge with Pharos

  • Knowledge with Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Projects

  • Experience with product development processes

  • Experience with manufacturing processes

Up to 25% travel required; must live w/in normal commuting distance to Lisle, IL.
