Product Designer, User Documentation & Education

Introduction

As a Product Designer, User Documentation and Education, you'll craft compelling user-instruction and educational content for our entire product portfolio. You'll lead the design, testing and management of all in-box printed materials and digital user-instruction experiences for our products. You will work cross-functionally with Industrial Design, Design Research, Product Management, Engineers, Customer Care, and Marketing to deliver world class unboxing and onboarding experiences for our customers.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the design and implementation of user-centric unboxing experiences, ensuring seamless interaction between physical packaging, user quick start guides, safety guides and manuals (print and digital), and onboarding processes (setup/quick start guide) to enhance product understanding and satisfaction

• Lead the testing of user-facing instructional material to ensure clarity and easy comprehension for users

• Develop, design and maintain user documents (owner's guides, quick start cards, setup guides, etc..) across all iRobot products and regions

• Partner with Industrial Design and Packaging to deliver best-in-class unboxing and onboarding experiences

• Work with cross functional team members to develop clear and concise instructional content

• Design brand consistent visuals and guides that are true to iRobot's brand and design standards

• Use and maintain change management and tracking processes to manage feedback and change requests

• Engage in brainstorming sessions and constructive design critiques

To Be Successful You Will Have:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 2-3 years of work experience in graphic design and/or user documentation creation, preferably at a consumer-based technology company

• Design for global audiences using established user-centered design methodologies

• Experience with onboarding and unboxing experience design

• Engaging presentation skills and experience in project management

• Fluency in a variety of design tools, including Adobe Suite applications and Figma

• Experience with mobile educational content is a plus

• Experience with Paligo documentation software is a plus
