This role will play an integral part to our business working alongside our Design team and with business unit leaders on new and existing products. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded, incredibly artistic, and articulate designer who loves beautiful products.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for researching, designing, and prototyping new user experiences based on product requirements.

  • Deliverables include wireframes, prototyping, design mockups, production of visual assets, and documentation required for proper implementation.

  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Development, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Business Unit Leaders.

  • Create rational, articulate, elegant solutions to complex problems.

  • Participate in user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency.

  • Document detailed interaction models and UI specifications.

  • Evangelize best UI practices to other designers, developers, and product managers.

  • Collaborate with other designers to maintain design consistency and coherence across platforms.

  • You are a natural collaborator and a phenomenal communicator, able to develop and present design ideas.

  • Iterate alongside developers to build great user experiences.

  • Collaborate on evolving our style guides.

  • Continually seek to understand the capabilities and technical constraints of the systems with which you'll be working.

Qualifications:

  • Online portfolio showcasing user experience and visual design work for desktop and touch devices.

  • 5+ years of work experience crafting user interface design in web, mobile-web, and app experiences in a e-commerce environment is a plus.

  • Well rounded understanding of information architecture.

  • You should possess extraordinary visual and user interface design skills, as well as user-centered design principals.

  • A proven track record of cross-functional product design for software initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

  • Well versed in, and opinionated about visual and user experience design.

  • Love of iterative design process.

  • Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches and wireframes.

  • Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, Sketch, Invision, Framer and other design tools.

  • Ability to prototype in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, AfterEffects, or other tools.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills - has the ability to get along well with different personalities.

  • Real passion for identifying and solving user problems.

  • You flourish in a dynamic, ever-changing, and deadline driven environment.

Role Summary: Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Designer – Wellbore Construction supporting Annular Isolation products and development in Houston, TX. The purpose of the Designer is to assist the Wellbore Construction group in the development of new products, work on the creation and fulfillment of product orders, provide support for the existing products, and respond to operations/customer feasibility work. Essential Responsibilities: * Responsible for CAD creation and presentation of parts and products within time guidelines. * Comprehensive knowledge of CAD software, engineering and drafting standards * Independently perform limited component and product design or analysis, as assigned by project technical lead or supervisor. * Complete manufacturing drawings and working layouts for product designs. * Utilize company systems and processes to create purchasing requests, bills of material, and product information sheets. * Work on the fulfillment of product orders, special product modifications, technical and order documentation, and order workflows. * Assist in the preparation of presentation documentation and illustrations for design reviews or product presentations. * Assist in the assembly and lab testing of prototypes, as assigned by project technical lead. * Draft technical manual documentation of new products with review and approval of technical lead or supervisor. * Improve product knowledge through increased familiarization with technical and service manuals and hands on experience. * Handles special projects, as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: * High School Diploma with 5 years drafting experience and 1 years design experience * Good individual communication skills and good problem solving ability * Should possess extensive 2D & 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) * Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to work "hands on" in a test lab facility * Ability to manage time effectively, holding to project schedule timelines * Contribute to technical reports and documentation * The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. * Ability to travel to remote field locations and work under less than ideal environmental conditions occasionally.
