Position Summary

This position produces and maintains drawings and other engineering documents pertaining to production, tooling, sales and equipment. It supports and aids other departments with technical information and process knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

  • Resolves technical problems.

  • Monitors compliance to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Researches and defines industry standard through the use of technical manuals and Engineering function.

  • Clarifies and standardizes information received from customers in order to define products for design purposes.

  • Works with Applications and Quality Departments to determine process capabilities and development.

  • Maintains and updates print files ensuring they contain the most recent customer specifications.

  • Reviews engineering changes, checking for accuracy and then adds necessary changes to the print.

  • Completes Engineering Change Form as required.

  • Engages in liaison activities between Engineering, Applications and Quality Departments.

  • Provides guidance to manufacturing/assembly teams in resolving production issues.

  • Works with internal personnel and vendors on new process and improvement projects.

  • Manages project work such that internal and external deadlines are met.

  • Works cross functionally and with related departments to obtain needed information or assistance.

  • Participates in production planning and print review meetings to obtain information needed to produce accurate prints.

  • Draws prints as needed for tooling, production, progression, Formax, gauging and sales.

  • Discriminates between capable and incapable processes using acquired knowledge of machine manufacturing capabilities.

  • Makes cost effective suggestions.

  • Utilizes failure mode effects analysis during new part review process to suggest possible process improvements.

  • Provides training to others within department and facility as needed.

  • Maintains a clean and neat work area.

  • Follows company safety rules and regulations.

  • Brings hazards to the attention of supervisor or manager.

  • Performs other similar duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Associate degree in drafting or related technical field or at least two years production related working experience

  • Strong computer skillsdrafting programs CAD and Pro-E

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical drafting processes

  • Strong organizational, analytical and quantitative skills

  • Ability to work with detail or limited details

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to work independently, plan and exercise good judgment under pressure

  • Ability to work with a variety of groups

  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow oral and written instructions

  • Lead time understanding

  • Knowledge of fastener manufacturing

  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.

VIEW JOBS 4/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-16T00:00 Job Description Truncated for Limited Space POSITION PURPOSE Independently operates a batch type waste water treatment facility for the purpose of isolating and removing oils and metals found in the water discharge of Decorah Operations. Ensures that the waste water effluent is properly treated and ready for discharge into the city water system in compliance with all federal EPA, state EPA and municipal guidelines. Complete routine safety inspections throughout the facility and assists with maintenance of safety labeling, paint and identification as needed. Uses standard Colorimetric (HACH unit) laboratory techniques to determine the level of contaminants contained within each holding tank. Performs chemical analysis of incoming, in-process and final effluent ensuring proper treatment and results are attained prior to release of waste water. Tests water samples to determine the required amounts of chemicals and additives necessary to properly treat the solution held in the batch tank. Analyzes contents of batch tank for concentrations of metals oils and PH level of solutions and logs results of each activity in daily log book as required. Checks, on a daily basis, all equipment, tanks, chemicals, PH monitoring equipment, flow meters, HACH unit, pumps, valves, etc. Calibrates instruments located within the facility to ensure accuracy of all daily readings and results. Operator is held individually responsible for the daily operations, processing and discharge of all effluents released from the facility into the city water system. Checks main instrumentation panel for proper PH levels, flow rates, tank levels, etc. to ensure the system is functioning properly. Verifies that all pumps are operating properly, all acid carboys contain acceptable levels of chemicals, test probes are clean and open strainers are not plugged and take corrective action as necessary to eliminate any deficiencies. Operates filter press to remove the maximum amount of liquid to minimize sludge amounts required to be removed by licensed waste haulers. Based on lab samples of batch tank to be treated, calculates the amounts of chemicals which will be necessary to treat solutions held in batch tanks. Prepares solution tanks by adding proper amounts of chemicals, acids and agents. Mixes contents of batch to ensure all chemicals are properly dissolved and proper results are obtained. Mixes waste sludge with proper drying agent to meet moisture specifications in sludge box ensuring it will pass final filter drip test. Takes water samples for the batch tank prior to discharge visually checks waste water clarity and retains as parts of required daily sample. Maintains a daily log and inventory of chemicals used and consumed in the operation of the facility. Knowledge & Skills Required: High School Diploma or GED. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Good communication skills. Detail oriented. Lab chemical hygiene training.
