The UX Design Intern will join the ranks of our Product Design team to take on practical problems in a world-class design environment while being mentored by a team of talented designers.
Zendesk is looking for driven individuals, eager to make a meaningful impact to hundreds and thousands of businesses, and deliver top-notch customer experience. You will be working with a group of dynamic designers who aim to make software simple for humans, learn from each other to become better everyday, and have fun in the process.
You'll be helping us build new and awesome experiences for our chat product. We're looking for someone that wants to learn about the entire design process from user research, to prototyping, testing and creating high fidelity mockups. The teams working on each feature are small and work in sprints with weekly deliverables.
Because we're making features that our customers rely on to run their own businesses, we care a lot about quality. We pair on our work and always have regular design critiques with experienced designers from our global design team. This helps designers to get up to speed and assimilate knowledge in a nurturing environment.
Scope of Work
Become a proficient design professional
Conduct user research, visit customers and define design problems
Prototype and test designs to validate assumptions
Create high fidelity interface designs using global design patterns
Present designs and consolidate feedback
Learn about modern software development processes:
Learn about Agile software development and how to work in fast iterations
Learn how to design for products at a massive scale
Participate and contribute in sprint planning, retrospectives and daily stand ups
Work with the localization team to ensure that designs cater for a variety of languages and cultures
You will be successful in this role if you:Have a working knowledge of design software such as Sketch, Photoshop & IllustratorWant to make a meaningful impact to our customer experience
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Can be autonomous and self-drivenGet inspired on a daily basis, think of new ideas and like to share them with others
