Our Industrial Group is seeking a versatile machinist to take on an intermediate management role within our machining shop. The Product Delivery Technician is a utility player and assistant manager who will assist in leading the team to accomplish daily production goals, resolve issues, develop & implement contingency plans while maintaining individual production.
What your day-to-day will look like
Within the framework of a team-based organization, the Product Delivery Technician (PDT) perform various precision machining and process based operations on complex components and parts supporting new production and repair.
Together with other team members (e.g., supervisors, lead persons, etc.), provide leadership and direction to the team by coordinating efforts, developing capabilities, communicating status and leading change to improve team performance.
PDT job functions are divided 50% on production and 50% management tasks.
Production responsibilities include:
Perform a normal range of CNC lathe operations and secondary operation type lathes.
Grind a variety of repetitive parts of simple form(i.e. straight shafts, single shoulder, straight bore, single step, chamfer, center lap, single groove configurations) utilizing one or more of the following type of grinders: cylindrical, internal or surface.
Perform simple setups and dress wheels for a normal range of operations.
Inspect all work performed and detect unusual conditions, defective materials, part deviation.
Positively contributes to the teamwork environment in terms of productivity, cooperation, data collection and attitude.
Management responsibilities focus on the following:
Support area metrics
Refine and execute manufacturing plans (level schedule)
Day-to-day issue resolution and problem solving
Lead process improvements
Lead Tier 1 Board daily
Initiate NCs and support RCCA
Support and improve standard work
Lead/support 5S and Kaizen activities
What skills and experience you'll need to bring with you
High School Diploma and 5 years of Machine Shop or A&T Experience
2 Year Approved Technical Degree and 2 years of Machine Shop or A&T Experience
4 Year BT/BS Technology Degree and 1 year of Machine Shop or A&T Experience
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience or certificate preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills are a must!
