Flying is easy, isn't it? You are used to catching planes to fly all around the world. Check in, print your boarding passes, drop your bags, go through the security, then board the plane... it's no rocket science.

Is it really that simple? Do you really know how it works behind the scenes? Are you curious to know what it takes to be cleared to fly by the regulatory authorities? How the check-in agent will charge you for excess baggage or kindly waive the excess? Have you ever wondered what happens when a flight is delayed or cancelled? How does the airline make sure that you get your connecting flight?

This is a very complex business, always changing, where any mistake can severely damage the airline reputation and business, and where all airlines have their set of specificities that we need to accommodate.

We are managing the world leading airline Passenger Servicing System - a system that provides check-in and boarding services to approximately 150 airlines and 1 billion passengers each year.

We're looking for enthusiastic Product Definition Analysts to work with our customers to understand their business needs, issues and to propose corresponding solutions and evolutions to our Departure Control System (DCS) product of Customer Management to address these. The role is based at our Bogota development center.

You will join the team that maintains the software that handles the complex logic to manage the baggage, ancillary, regulatory and all processes related to flights at the core of the Amadeus DCS Customer Management application.

Summary of the role:

As a PDA your mission is to analyze, design and specify the best functional solution for our Customer Management system, along with a detailed test plan and test executions, always focused on providing the best travel experience to our customers.

  • Works autonomously within defined processes and procedures or methodologies, takes standard decisions and may support the development of solutions to complex problems of a recurring nature.

  • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles or manager, with regular monitoring on the status of the assignments.

  • May have specialized formal education or the equivalent work experience and has the required technical and functional skills and basic knowledge of the business.

In this role you'll:

Assess requirements

  • Build, maintain and share the functional knowledge of our processes, services and usage of end user products.

  • Analyze business requirements submitted by Product Management.

  • Size specification and validation work.

Carry out functional design

  • Write Feasibility Studies, Solution Overview Documents, Interface Control Documents, Product Specifications and present functional walk-throughs to all concerned stakeholders.

  • Interface with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.

Overview validation

  • Contribute to the implementation of the test strategy, and review test plan, to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity

  • Ensure traceability of tests with specifications

  • Ensure production integrity by investigating, validating and prioritizing reported incidents.

Manage relations with key stakeholders

  • Interface and communicate with Product Management, Project management, Amadeus Customer Services, Implementation, Migration and Development teams.

  • Interface with the customer during requirements understanding, functional specification, testing and implementation phases.

Participate to team events

  • Support team stakeholders by participating in team ceremonies: Agile forums, Team meetings, Solution assessments.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Excellent analysis & design skills

  • Experience in Agile frameworks Kanban/Scrum/SAFe

  • Ability to write clear and structured documentation

  • Fluency in English

  • Good written and verbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interact and communicate successfully with business partners and technology teams

  • Experience as a Business Analyst

  • Experience as a Product Owner is a nice to have

  • Tools & Technologies: Jira, Office Suite, Octane, SQL, Azure ecosystem, Automated Testing
