Community Operations' focus is on improving the health of our products and helping people understand how to use them through both direct support interactions as well as scalable solutions. The Product Data Operations team lead large-scale data labeling projects that power Facebook machine learning projects and generate insights for how to improve our products. Our mission is to empower product to drive the best possible user experience for the Facebook platform. This is a full-time internship position for Summer 2020, based in either our Sunnyvale, CA or Menlo Park, California offices.


  • Collaborate with members of the PDO team as well as Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Research, Marketing and Analytics to understand a key business problem

Partner with those people to develop a structured, actionable project plan

Analyze relevant data and effectively summarize insights

Present findings, next steps, and impact clearly to company leaders

Deliver against the project plan in collaboration with teammates


  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree

Experience meeting objectives without supervision

Experience in a customer service or consumer-oriented environment

Experience developing strategic solutions

Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment


  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op

Responsibilities: * Assist with writing topics and instructions for using new features. * Format existing documentation topics to comply with content templates, and identify content for reuse across product components. * Integrate feedback from the field, and monitor internal channels for possible content improvements. * Contribute to the strategy for on-boarding new users, ongoing technical learning, and employee development. * Help design, develop, and deliver technical information and courses, including course materials, exercises, and skill evaluations. * Edit video of internal information sessions, making it accessible to users across the organization. * Monitor course completion and prepare reports for internal stakeholders. * Create assessments and certifications to ensure readiness for team members and success for customers. Required Skills/Qualifications: * University-level student, pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a focus in Communications, English, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Journalism, Information Management, or a related discipline. * Enthusiasm for creating documentation and new learning experiences. * Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills. * Familiarity with adult learning principles and course design techniques. * Knowledge of database and/or business intelligence solutions is a strong plus.
