Product Code Specialist

Job Description

• Item Onboarding (10%)

o Approving newly created items for release in channels

o Review item master data needs and implement new fields, structure, and processes to address those needs

• Enrichment (30%)

o Enhance item master data, including collecting additional product data as needed (i.e., contacting vendors, performing web searches, etc.)

o Review and approve enriched data submitted to ERP directly from the vendor

• Cleanup (30%)

o Identify item master data issues and proactively make necessary data revisions

o Create and perform data cleansing activities, including identifying and resolving product data and processing issues

o Perform data integrity audits as needed

• Maintenance (30%)

o Ensure the accuracy of all item master data within the ERP, including key data fields, attributes, and item descriptions to support downstream channels

o Monitor and maintain the completeness of item master data through the lifecycle

You will be an excellent fit for the Product Code Specialist role if you possess the following qualities:

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, both internal and external to SRS Distribution

• Sense of urgency to complete tasks required promptly with attention to detail

• Highly organized with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously, all while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction

• Proficiency in managing data with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (using advanced functions, such as filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

• Proficient in other common business software like Word and PowerPoint

• Knowledgeable of the business processes and products

• Working experience leveraging product data to support an eCommerce platform also a plus

• Experience in the pool, landscape, or distribution industry a plus
