Complete Vehicle contributes to deliver the right Products & Services to all Volvo Group brand customers according to product segmentation and brand positioning. In Complete Vehicle we are a team of specialized functions with various responsibilities: Aftermarket technology developing aftermarket solutions for the brands; FVV breaking down features to technical requirements, as well as verifying and validating products and services; Product Design translating the soul of the brand to a product message; Product Builds delivering all truck and component builds; Special Vehicle Development developing niche products.

In Complete Vehicle we are close to end customers, understanding their needs and behaviors. Our engaged teams have a holistic view of the entire truck and bring hands-on truck experience.

Product Builds provides Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Bus and Governmental Sales with all prototype vehicle and component needed for tests. We are responsible to deliver all rigs, mock up, mules, prototypes to answer all Group Trucks Technology powertrain and vehicle projects. We also cooperate closely with manufacturing and purchasing to assemble prototypes in the Volvo Group plants. In Product Builds, we constantly improve our way of working through cooperation between our sites worldwide and work according to lean principles (Volvo Production System).

Our teams are skilled in product and product documentations, prototype purchasing and logistics. Our engaged teams are located in Gothenburg, Lyon, Greensboro, Hagerstown, Curitiba, Bangalore and Ageo.

Job Summary

As an Order Office on Project for Product Build in US, you will be actively involved in developing and leading the budget and forecast work of Product Build for all US projects, It is the input channel for all cost estimates and updates the result in Score system.

Performance follow-up is done on a regular basis mainly monthly but also weekly for specific activity mainly on logistic.

The Product Build order office is the representative in activities/meetings connected to budget forecast and score work.

The challenges ahead is to be more efficient, to apply an agile way of working on Product Build Process to generate a positive effect to our quality of projects and financial project results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Product builds responsible for cost estimate and payment plan update globally

  • Leading cost estimate and payment plan process within Product Builds globally regarding hours and material for start cost projects, maintenance projects, process projects, IS/IT projects and other activities

  • In channel, coordinating all answers from line organizations, updating the figures into the system.

  • Product builds responsible for budget and forecast work, leading the work within Product Builds organization

  • Product project hours, PIM hours, invoicing hours, non-billable hours, AE hours

  • Resource planning

  • Monthly follow of workload versus manning

  • Update resource file

  • Update long term manning file/forecast on demand

  • Performance follow up

  • Follow up spent versus planned (hours, material, expenses)

  • Monthly follow up of workload versus manning

  • Follow new projects and secure that cost estimates and payment plan is covered for Product Builds

  • Initiate cost estimates to line managers

  • Score update

  • WBS structure

  • Update hours and material cost for all groups

  • Lead work to be more efficient and harmonized in internal Product Builds financial processes

  • Educate

  • Implement KPI

  • With input and in cooperation with finance, follow up in detail on prototype material cost

Additional Information

  • Hiring by end of May 2019

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree; MS degree preferred

  • Experience with the most common Volvo systems within PB as example; Kola, SAP, Score and GPS

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office

  • Personal qualities include the ablity to take initiative, a desire for improvement as well as sound ability to communicate and engage people.

Required Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Business or Finance

  • Experienced in most common Product Build Knowledge, Project, or Production Knowledge is preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Prepare for workday with appropriate tools and materials before reporting to workstation. * Reads work orders or receives and listens to oral instructions to determine work assignments daily. * Takes direction from Distribution Manager and/or Distribution Coordinator/ DC Supervisor. * Efficiently use RF device and/or paperwork and record amount of materials received to complete all orders. * Open multiple source cases at a time with appropriate cutting technique (safety first). * Gather a reasonable amount of units to carry from source case to destination cartons. * Seal cartons when volume dictates or when you are idle, utilizing the "H" formation when taping cartons. * Identify cartons for appropriate zone marked "next" for easy visibility. * Move source cases towards back of zone while completing movement into destination cartons. * Marks materials with identifying information and research product discrepancies as they arise. * Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. * Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications. * Pack neatly, accurately and efficiently by SKU from associated paperwork. * Work indirect functions such as print apply, no read line and quality assurance areas. * Operate pallet jacks and push/pull picking carts as needed. * Uses computer to enter records; PkMS knowledge (contingent) * Push off multiple completed cases to the residual line. * This position largely interacts with equivalent levels of internal personnel. * Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code. * The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. * Assembles customer order from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. * Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attentive to detail. * Temperature fluctuation should be considered while in a warehouse environment. * Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
